Liu Chen hosted a banquet in the palace to celebrate the holiday and show appreciation to the ministers. Liu Chen raised his wine cup and toasted to Liu Yan, but his gaze lingered on Mu Zhuohua. His steward reminded him that he should go and offer a toast to the Empress Dowager. Annoyed, Liu Chen reluctantly went to deal with the court ladies. Despite his reluctance, he went along. The Empress Dowager asked him to choose a woman, but Liu Chen thought of Mu Zhuohua. Princess Rou Jia noticed his affection for Mu Zhuohua and inquired if he had someone in his heart. Liu Chen denied it. As he was about to leave, Ye Muzhen called out to him, insisting on toasting him. Unable to escape, Liu Chen had to drink and left.

Mu Zhuohua's servant deliberately spilled a cup of water on her, soaking her clothes. The servant asked her to go to the warming pavilion to rest while she fetched new clothes. Mu Zhuohua was unaware that she had fallen into someone else's trap. After drinking the wine Ye Muzhen gave him, Liu Chen stumbled around and coincidentally saw Mu Zhuohua heading towards him. Seeing Liu Chen in such an intoxicated state, Mu Zhuohua rushed forward to support him, unaware that Liu Chen had been drugged. Mu Zhuohua tried to call for help, but the door was locked. In an effort to control himself, Liu Chen used a hairpin to prick his arm.

Sun Yunyun found Liu Yan and told him that she was willing to become his concubine if he wanted to marry Mu Zhuohua. Liu Yan assured her that he wouldn't let Mu Zhuohua suffer and pushed her away. The palace maid informed the Empress Dowager and Princess Rou Jia about a couple engaged in inappropriate activities in the warming pavilion. The Empress Dowager, furious, went to investigate, eager to see who had dared to be so audacious. Upon entering, they found Liu Chen throwing a tantrum and breaking things. Ye Muzhen suggested that no one else but the Emperor would dare to defy them in such a way. Princess Rou Jia wore a triumphant expression, thinking that she had succeeded, unaware that it was all a charade put on for her benefit.

Liu Yan realized that her schemes had repeatedly failed, and she was unlikely to give up. Liu Yan and Mu Zhuohua enjoyed desserts together and chatted. Liu Yan wondered why Mu Zhuohua wasn't afraid of others knowing about their relationship anymore. Mu Zhuohua believed that Liu Yan felt the same way. They expressed their love for each other and were very happy.

Shen Jinghong learned that Princess Rou Jia was behind the incidents in the warming pavilion. She thought she did nothing wrong and had only pushed them into their own traps. Shen Jinghong left after hearing this, and Princess Rou Jia hugged him, reminding him not to forget their agreement.

Shen Jinghong wanted Princess Rou Jia to stop, questioning whether their actions were really meant to benefit the Southern Palace. He couldn't believe she would even use Mu Zhuohua. Princess Rou Jia told him she wouldn't back down and thought Shen Jinghong lacked foresight. They parted ways angrily.

Ye Muzhen came out and told Princess Rou Jia that she wanted chaos in the Southern Palace, and Northern Liang also hoped for chaos in the Southern Palace. They would see who emerged victorious. Mu Zhuohua asked Guo Juli to buy some festive items and decorate the courtyard to give Liu Yan a legitimate status. Guo Juli went to the market and purchased many items, preparing the courtyard.

Guo Juli bought two ducks, and Mu Zhuohua thought they were for making duck soup. Guo Juli told her they were actually for betrothal gifts. When Liu Yan tried to visit Mu Zhuohua's house, she drove him away, leaving him puzzled.

Princess Rou Jia continued to speak ill of Mu Zhuohua in front of Sun Yunyun, who didn't want to see Liu Yan being misled by Mu Zhuohua. Mu Zhuohua was busy preparing for the wedding when suddenly the Emperor summoned her. Someone had accused her of having a deep relationship with Prince Yipin. Unable to defend herself, Mu Zhuohua was surrounded and attacked by many officials. Zhi Jian informed Liu Yan, who rushed to rescue Mu Zhuohua. In front of the Emperor and numerous officials, Liu Yan admitted to his private relationship with Mu Zhuohua and declared her as his concubine.
