Shi Ying couldn't understand why Zhu Yan had intruded into his spiritual realm. He suspected it might be due to the lingering effects of the Gong Shang Yu Li, where their spiritual powers had connected, leading Zhu Yan to mistakenly enter his spiritual realm. Concubine Qing summoned Qing Gang and arranged a marriage for him, instructing Qing Gang to propose to Princess Zhu Yan in Lord of Chi's residence. She also mentioned that Qing Gang had previously failed to complete a task, so this could be seen as making amends. Zhu Yan, as Lord of Chi's only daughter and the future Lord of Chi, this alliance would be beneficial for the Qing Clan.

Qing Gang met Bai Xuelu and revealed the plan of Concubine Qing for him to propose to Zhu Yan. He knew that Bai Xuelu was about to marry Lord Shi Yu, but he wondered if she willingly accepted this marriage. Although Lord Shi Yu liked Bai Xueying, Bai Xuelu believed that children of prominent families had no right to choose their own marriage partners. People like them didn't seek warmth; they only considered the pros and cons. She advised Qing Gang to act the same way. Concubine Qing wanted King of Bei Mian to bestow marriage upon Lord Shi Yu and Bai Xueying. Bai Xuelu didn't blame anyone for missing out on Shi Yu. She always believed that Lord of Chi was not an ordinary person, and even if Shi Yu became the crown prince, he would struggle to achieve great things.

A new crown prince was chosen, and Zhu Yan knew that her master didn't care about such titles. With this arrangement, her master wouldn't have to worry about her being involved in conflicts, and perhaps she could quickly return to Jiuyi Mountain. Qing Gang personally came to Lord of Chi's residence to propose, and Lord of Chi and his wife greatly favored the match, urging Zhu Yan to get along well with Qing Gang. Zhu Yan learned from Qing Gang that Concubine Qing wanted to win over the Chi Clan by arranging Qing Gang's marriage. Qing Gang couldn't refuse the clan leader's command, so he asked Zhu Yan to reject the proposal. Although Zhu Yan didn't like Bai Xuelu, she persuaded Qing Gang not to give up because of her. Under Zhu Yan's persuasion, Qing Gang decided to go back and reject the marriage alliance.

Shi Ying saw Zhu Yan again in the spiritual realm. Zhu Yan thought the phantom before her was her master in person and reproached him for not visiting her and for doing things she didn't dare to do with her master, teasing him in various ways. Faced with Zhu Yan's teasing, Shi Ying could only laugh and dispel Zhu Yan's suspicions. Zhu Yan embraced her laughing master, enjoying the presence of her master in the illusion since her master wouldn't allow her to embrace him in reality. Zhu Yan confided in the phantom master about being forced into marriage by her mother, and she wondered who could compare to such an excellent master she had encountered. Shi Ying heard Zhu Yan's praise and felt joyful, causing red flowers to bloom on the Wishing Tree in the spiritual realm.

Chong Ming informed Shi Ying that the assassin from the Ice Clan who targeted him hadn't died. Shi Ying knew that the survivor was Wu Xian, the leader of the Ten Sorcerers. As long as Wu Xian survived, even if the other nine were wiped out, he could rise from the ashes. The Ice Clan attacked the Emperor's Valley and the Nüluo Stream twice, and it was evident that there was a plot involving the Qing Clan behind the scenes. However, it was unknown what kind of agreement they had reached. Shi Ying wanted to find out the intentions of the Ice Clan and the identity of the wise person mentioned by Wu Xian.

Shi Ying and Chong Ming went to Jiuyi County to gather information. They found an item left behind by Wu Xian when he escaped and discovered maps of Jiuyi Mountain, the surrounding areas of Nüluo Stream, and the solution to the maze outside the Emperor's Valley. Chong Ming speculated that there was a traitor from the Ice Clan in Jiuyi Mountain. Shi Ying believed that the person who gave the map to Wu Xian was the wise one. He ordered Chong Ming to spread the news and search for the whereabouts of the Ten Sorcerers of the Ice Clan within the territory, hoping to find the wise person as soon as possible.

Shi Ying informed Da Si Ming about the information he had gathered, and Da Si Ming commanded him to continue the investigation. Da Si Ming also told Shi Ying that Concubine Qing had ordered Qing Gang to propose to Zhu Yan, and if Shi Ying felt it was inappropriate, he could use their incompatible fate as a reason to stop the marriage. However, Shi Ying stated that he had no interest in worldly matters, so he didn't care about Zhu Yan's marriage. Shi Ying extracted Da Si Ming's spiritual power in the realm of Qing Xiu and learned that Zhu Yan could enter his spiritual realm because Da Si Ming had reinforced the residual connection with his own spiritual power. Shi Ying questioned Da Si Ming's intentions for doing so. Although Da Si Ming didn't deny it, he said it was just a test to gauge Shi Ying's state of mind. Shi Ying emphasized that Zhu Yan was only his disciple, and he hoped Da Si Ming wouldn't speculate about their relationship. If Da Si Ming insisted on testing, he would erase all memories and spiritual power related to Zhu Yan and start his cultivation anew. Seeing Shi Ying determined to erase his memories and spiritual power, Da Si Ming intervened and promised to retract his spiritual power, no longer allowing Zhu Yan to enter Shi Ying's spiritual realm.

Shi Ying knew that Zhu Yan's desire not to marry was just a fantasy and a hope to return to Jiuyi Mountain one day. But if Zhu Yan still had any connection to him, both her and Lord of Chi's residence would be drawn into trouble. He personally wrote a marriage proposal letter to break Zhu Yan's delusion. A divine servant brought gifts and the marriage proposal letter, congratulating Zhu Yan on her blessed union with Qing Gang. The divine servant conveyed Shi Ying's message, hoping that Zhu Yan could enjoy the worldly pleasures and not be concerned about matters in the mountain. This made Zhu Yan very sad.
