Zhu Yan took the opportunity to tease her master while feeding him medicine, and she sprinkled some of the medicine on him, forcing Shi Ying to change into Chi Clan attire. The group then hurried to Xia City, with Zhu Yan and Shi Ying posing as a Chi Clan couple. Shi Ying pretended to be severely ill with a cold, and after a thorough inspection, Zhu Yan and Shi Ying successfully entered Xia City.

Shi Ying didn't want Zhu Yan to risk herself for him and wanted her to find an opportunity to leave. However, Zhu Yan couldn't easily let her master go and used her magic to lock Shi Ying, taking him to the physician Xu's clinic. Zhu Yan asked someone at the clinic to prepare food but used her magic to immobilize her master's right hand, making it impossible for him to eat on his own. Shi Ying had no choice but to help take care of her.

Zhu Yan understood that her master didn't want to burden her, and Shi Ying honestly admitted that Zhu Yan had been seriously injured because of him on Jiuyi Mountain. He didn't want to owe Zhu Yan anything in the mortal world. Zhu Yan believed that since her master believed she wasn't just an ordinary woman confined to the inner chambers, he shouldn't view her with the eyes of someone looking at a weakling. She stated that everything she did was based on her own principles and she always remembered the teachings of her master. She wouldn't hesitate or act against her own principles.

Shi Ying asked Zhu Yan to release the spell, and once they arrived in Xia City, he wouldn't choose to leave anymore. After having their meal, Shi Ying sought treatment from Physician Xu, who recognized Shi Ying's identity as a practitioner from Jiuyi Mountain and treated his wounds. Physician Xu mentioned encountering someone who insisted on going through the trials of hell and returning to the mortal world for the sake of a loved one. However, in hundreds of years, no one had successfully passed the trials of hell, and that person died under the heavenly thunder. Shi Ying believed that if one chose to be heartless in the mountains, they shouldn't seek true love in the mortal world. Therefore, he didn't approve of that person's choice back then.

Although Physician Xu removed the fragments from Shi Ying's body, the malevolent energy inside him still needed time to be purified. For the next three days, Shi Ying wouldn't be able to use any magical power. If he forcefully activated his power, it would only backfire on himself. Physician Xu cautioned Shi Ying not to recklessly use his true essence.

When Zhu Yan saw Chong Ming arriving at the clinic, she wanted to bid farewell and leave the place. Chong Ming intended to express his feelings to Zhu Yan and persuade her to stay, but Shi Ying interrupted him. Shi Ying stated that he would be fine after resting for a few more hours and urged Zhu Yan to leave with peace of mind.

Upon receiving a letter from Lord Chi, Zhu Yan learned that the crisis in Xia City had been resolved and troops from Jialan were sent to support them. The crisis in Tianji Fengcheng had also been alleviated. Shi Ying stated that he had urgent matters to attend to in the Western Wilderness and planned to part ways with Zhu Yan there. Zhu Yan was concerned about her master's condition and accompanied him to the mountain to observe the stars. On the way, she deliberately twisted her ankle to test her master. Seeing that Zhu Yan insisted on going up the mountain with him, Shi Ying had no choice but to carry her on his back. Shi Ying had long seen through Zhu Yan's ruse to test his recovery of magical power but also thought that Zhu Yan's behavior of truly twisting her ankle was quite foolish.

Since the appearance of the Gui Xie Star, it had been intermittent. While observing the stars on the mountain, Shi Ying couldn't detect the whereabouts of the Gui Xie Star and suspected that its owner had been teetering between life and death. Shi Ying wanted to investigate the whereabouts of the Gui Xie Star to determine if this person posed a threat to Kongsang. He would take action before disaster struck and prevent the suffering of the world caused by him. Shi Ying intended to continue tracing the Gui Xie Star and planned to go to the White Tower in Jialan to observe the stars. They would part ways the next day. Zhu Yan was reluctant to separate from her master and, upon hearing that her master was willing to grant her a wish, she requested him to play the xiao flute for her. Shi Ying naturally fulfilled her wish.

The next day, Shi Ying originally intended to leave with Chong Ming directly. However, Zhu Yan caught up with him and explained that since the battle in Xia City, he had become the target of the Sea Kingdom's forces. Now, the entire Western Wilderness was searching for Shi Ying. Zhu Yan worried that her master, whose powers had not yet recovered, would be unable to resist the Sea Kingdom's forces. Just as someone tried to capture Shi Ying, Zhu Yan noticed it and pushed Shi Ying away, but she herself was caught.
