While Ruyi was performing, Bai Fenglin's subordinates searched the Star Sea Cloud Pavilion in secret. Although Aqing managed to send the Jiao people away discreetly, she was eventually killed. Bai Fenglin tortured Ruyi to force her to reveal the location of the Sea Emperor. Over the years, Ruyi struggled in Mudan and had some involvement with Bai Fenglin. Bai Fenglin fed her poison to make her talk, but Shi Ying arrived in time and saved Ruyi.

In gratitude for Shi Ying saving her life, Ruyi revealed the truth about the Autumn Water Songstress incident. It was Jiant Elder's arrangement for Autumn Water to infiltrate the King of Bei Mian's side, while Ruyi was tasked with providing funds and intelligence to the Hai Kingdom army. Autumn Water succeeded in gaining the trust of the King of Bei Mian. The Elder believed that Shi Ying, as the legitimate eldest son of the King, possessed extraordinary talent and would hinder the Jiao Clan's plan to reclaim their country. Thus, he ordered Autumn Water to put Shi Ying in a perilous situation. In the end, Autumn Water sacrificed herself to secure the future of the Kongsang people.

Chong Ming wanted to bring Ruyi to the King of Bei Mian and reveal the truth, but Ruyi had already overwritten her memories with a dream. She had forgotten everything. Zhu Yan heard that the Kongsang army had captured Ruyi and sought Bai Xuelu's help to find Shi Ying's whereabouts. Zhu Yan rushed to the Star Sea Cloud Pavilion upon learning that Shi Ying was there. After observing the situation, she confirmed that the place was now under the control of the Kongsang army. She met Qing Gang and asked him to take her to see Shi Ying. Bai Fenglin interjected, stating that Shi Ying was currently interrogating the Jiao person, Ruyi, and stopped Zhu Yan from seeing Shi Ying.

Shi Ying heard Zhu Yan's voice and asked her to come upstairs to meet him. Zhu Yan asked about Ruyi's whereabouts upon meeting Shi Ying. However, Shi Ying noticed something amiss and hurried back to the room, only to find that Ruyi had been rescued. He followed the trace and tracked them. Worried about Shi Ying and Zhi Yuan, Zhu Yan also followed in haste.

Zhi Yuan took Ruyi to the underground city of the Jiao Clan and used the Water Vanishing Technique to send her away. Shi Ying caught up and fought with Zhi Yuan. He easily trapped Zhi Yuan, and at this moment, Zhu Yan arrived to protect the injured Zhi Yuan. Zhu Yan clarified that it was Elder Jian who was responsible for the last time the ceasefire agreement was broken. Zhi Yuan was doing his best to salvage the situation, and he was not the mastermind behind it. Shi Ying revealed that Ruyi willingly stayed in the dangerous Mudan all these years, even choosing to erase her memories through dreams to prevent herself from obtaining any information about the Sea Emperor. The incident with Autumn Water Songstress was caused by hearing that the Crown Prince was an extraordinary talent from Kongsang, so she willingly entered the palace to sow discord and ultimately committed suicide to destroy the Crown Prince.
