Bai Yan was posthumously honored as Empress Ren Jia, and her remains were moved to the Imperial Valley. Shi Ying resumed his status as the crown prince from that day.

Xuelu and Qing Gang rescued Zhu Yan in the mountains, but she remained unconscious for three days, and they were unable to help her because she had told them not to take her to Jiuyi Mountain. Xuelu recalled something she had read in ancient texts and suspected that Zhu Yan's lost senses could only be restored by magic. Together with Qing Gang, they used the magic of their clans to restore Zhu Yan's sight and hearing, but unfortunately, Qing Gang belonged to a branch of the Qing clan and didn't have the Qing clan's ultimate treasure. Knowing that Zhu Yan had used half of her life force to save him and took care of him for three days, Shi Ying suspected that she actually liked him even though she said she liked Zhi Yuan. He deduced that Zhu Yan liked him, and her initial declaration of liking Zhi Yuan was just to save someone. After confirming his feelings from Chong Ming, Shi Ying decided to go down the mountain to find Zhu Yan. When Da Si Ming arrived and saw Shi Ying awake, he was very happy. He promised not to force Shi Ying to return to the mortal world and forbade him from looking for Zhu Yan, the calamity daughter. Shi Ying thanked Da Si Ming for his nurturing over the years, but now that he had died once, he just wanted to be with Zhu Yan and not waste the second chance she gave him. Shi Ying was determined to go to the Hell of Ten Thousand Tribulations and took off his divine robe. Seeing his determination, Da Si Ming finally agreed to his request.
