Li Lianhua used the excuse of a serious injury from falling while wearing the Pomegranate Skirt to stay at the Lotus-Picking Manor and continue the investigation. Li Lianhua and Di Feisheng interrogated Guo Kun, but he was incoherent and couldn't provide any useful information. Li Lianhua tried to test Guo Kun with the Pomegranate Skirt secretly brought along, but Guo Kun showed no response. Lianhua felt that Guo Kun didn't seem like the culprit. Meanwhile, Di Feisheng was studying the two calligraphies in Lady Su's room again.

The two paintings indicated that Shi Hun had an affair with Lady Xu and wanted to take her away. And since Guo Kun could only imitate the person closest to him, which was Guo Qian, he was seen carrying a skeleton on his back at night because he saw Guo Qian carrying and hiding corpses.
