The search for the Bao Lan Ren Tou turned out to be fruitless. Li Lianhua, Fang Duobing, and Guan He dream, who had been following Li Lianhua closely, once again inspected Jin Mantang's room and noticed a fragrance inside. Li Lianhua recalled that the same scent had been on Zhiyu before and also remembered the bracelets Zhiyu had. Suddenly, he understood what was going on. Zhiyu revealed everything; she was supposedly Jin Mantang's adopted daughter, but in reality, she was just a decoy for his strange illness. Jin Mantang suffered from a strange ailment, and every few days, he would take her blood to soak medicinal materials in Bo Lan Ren Tou, which would alleviate his condition.

Li Lianhua and Fang Hua returned to the Lianhua Tower in town, but to their surprise, Guan He dream followed them. Although they had been driven out of Yuanbao Mountain Villa, Guan He dream was still inside, so they wanted to get her help from the inside. Guan He dream, in her haughty manner, said that she wouldn't agree to help Li Lianhua just because of a meal. Li Lianhua exposed Guan He dream's true identity as Su Xiaoyong, a descendant of the "Million People's Register." Su Xiaoyong claimed that she could help Li Lianhua, not out of fear of being exposed, but because she had feelings for him.

Su Xiaoyong deliberately pretended to act with Zhiyu, and as expected, some black-clad people believed it and chased after Su Xiaoyong out of the villa. Li Lianhua and Fang Duobing appeared and caught the black-clad pursuers. The person turned out to be Jian Lingxiao. Li Lianhua realized that Jian Lingxiao was not the one who killed Jin Mantang; he was just trying to find the whereabouts of Bo Lan Ren Tou.
