When the national teacher showed interest in selecting this site, Wang Gonggong was greatly frightened and repeatedly stated that this place was ominous. Li Lianhua asked Yang Yunchun to investigate the background of the four craftsmen on his behalf. He discovered that Shan Gudao had used these four individuals to find something related to "Mother Geng." Li Lianhua realized that "Mother Geng" was in the Elysian Tower, and Shan Gudao's plan was to infiltrate the palace to locate the tower. Finding "Mother Geng" depended on locating the Elysian Tower.

The next morning, the national teacher set off to select the site within the inner palace, and Li Lianhua decided to accompany him, with Shan Gudao waiting outside. On the way to choose the site, a ferocious beast appeared, causing confusion among the group, and the site selection was temporarily postponed. That night, Li Lianhua observed the residence of the craftsmen at the Jade Buddha Temple, suspecting that these four individuals were working for Shan Gudao. However, all four craftsmen died suddenly overnight, and the key figure "Liu Kehuo" also committed suicide. Li Lianhua gathered some crucial clues through secret inquiries, but he was apprehended by the Grand Court. Fang Duobing arrived just in time and rescued Li Lianhua. They decided to investigate the abandoned garden to uncover the truth.
