Xia Mi arrived at their secret hideout. The setup remained mostly the same, but many desks were missing. She thought back to when she had written the names of her four closest friends on the blackboard and Zhang Ruoxi would play guitar to inspire her creativity. Everything felt like it had happened yesterday. Now, the ten-year promise had come, and it seemed Zhang Ruoxi had indeed broken it. Feeling disheartened, she wrote "Never again" on the blackboard before leaving.
After Xia Mi left, Zhang Ruoxi showed up, following her footsteps in search of her. However, he couldn’t find her. He then went to wait outside Xia Mi’s home, calling her, but no one answered. Later, he bumped into Xia Mi’s mother, who mentioned that Xia Mi had gone to sing at a KTV. At the KTV, Wang Xiaoyu tried persuading Xia Mi to drink less, but Xia Mi remained downcast.
Seeing her mood, Fan Yuan decided to drink with her. Xiao Junyi first escorted an intoxicated Wang Xiaoyu home. At the doorstep, he spotted Zhang Ruoxi, who, without much of a greeting, headed straight to the private room to find Xia Mi. Xia Mi was singing an old song, one that always made Zhang Ruoxi appear in the past. This time was no exception. Zhang Ruoxi suddenly stood before her, and Xia Mi felt as if she were dreaming.
Fan Yuan asked Zhang Ruoxi to take Xia Mi home. On the way, Xia Mi told Zhang Ruoxi to buy her flowers and complained about how heartless he had been. Zhang Ruoxi reassured her that he would never leave again, but Xia Mi still felt it was all too surreal, like a dream. The next morning, Xia Mi woke up to find a bouquet of roses by her bedside.
As she tried to recall what had happened the previous day, Wang Xiaoyu called, urging her to check the trending news. Zhang Ruoxi was attending a press conference for a new drama and had publicly announced his efforts to secure the lead role in another project to fulfill a ten-year promise to his most important friend. Turning off her phone, Xia Mi suddenly saw Zhang Ruoxi entering her home with groceries for her mom.
She immediately pushed him out of the door and leaned against it, crying uncontrollably. Hearing her sobs from outside, Zhang Ruoxi didn’t know what to do. Xia Mi refused to meet him, so Zhang Ruoxi texted her, promising to wait forever. Later, he called Fan Yuan, who responded by punching him for breaking his promise to take care of Xia Mi.
But seeing Zhang Ruoxi’s regret, Fan Yuan helped him apply medicine to the bruise and told him not to give up. The next morning, as soon as Xia Mi stepped outside, she saw Zhang Ruoxi enthusiastically offering her a ride. Su Su informed her that Zhang Ruoxi had already been cast as the male lead and suggested Xia Mi schedule time to discuss the script with him. The two of them visited an amusement park, riding the Ferris wheel together.
Zhang Ruoxi tried hard to explain himself, but Xia Mi still refused to accept his words. The following day, Xia Mi arranged to meet Zhang Ruoxi to discuss the script. Once she sat down at the restaurant, Zhang Ruoxi arrived soon after but chose to sit at a different table. A little later, Lin Ruolei passed by, and the two exchanged a few words.
Meanwhile, Wang Xiaoyu messaged Xia Mi, revealing that Fan Yuan and Lin Ruolei had broken up long ago and that Lin Ruolei had fabricated a year-long long-distance relationship. Xia Mi advised Lin Ruolei not to live so burdened and assured her that they were never enemies to begin with.
