Luo Shenyuan carried the unconscious Luo Yining away and quickly found a doctor. Lin Mao applied a secret medicine of his own and worked tirelessly to save her. After a long while, Luo Yining finally awoke, groggy but safe. Opening her eyes, she saw Lin Hairu and Grandmother Luo by her side. Tearfully, Luo Yining asked if she could still call her "Grandmother.
" Grandmother Luo comforted her, saying they had already found her biological father—the Duke of Ying—who was waiting outside. She asked if Luo Yining would be willing to meet him. Luo Yining, knowing the Luo family could no longer accommodate her, agreed to meet the Duke. The Duke, both surprised and overjoyed, felt as if the partner he had long searched for had left him a child.
He tidied his clothes before seeing her, gently encouraging Luo Yining to rest well and respecting whatever decision she would make. He expressed his hope that she would give her father a chance to make amends and wanted to take her to his residence to care for her properly. However, Luo Yining did not give an immediate response.
When her injuries finally healed enough for her to walk, Luo Yining told Luo Shenyuan that wherever she was, she felt like a floating plant, never in control of her own life. She didn’t want to live as someone dependent on others. Instead of showing any remorse, Chen Lan urged Luo Yixiu to quickly seek help from Han Zhao, suggesting that marrying him might be her way out.
Luo Yixiu was saddened that her mother only cared about escaping unscathed and climbing social ranks for the family’s benefit, never caring if Luo Yixiu would be happy. Luo Yiyu, unable to bear her mother’s suffering in prison, took gifts to Madam Shen, hoping to gain her sympathy. However, Madam Shen's daughter looked down on her as the daughter of a criminal and mocked her, shutting the door in her face.
In the Duke's residence, the Dowager Han disapproved of her son's public acknowledgment of Luo Yining. The Duke confirmed that she was indeed his daughter and felt deeply remorseful for the harm Minglan and the child had suffered. The dowager, who had always regretted that her highly-ranked son had no children, was delighted at the idea of a granddaughter and urged him to bring Luo Yining home immediately.
The Duke, feeling somewhat awkward, explained that Luo Yining needed time to gradually accept him as her father. Soon, the shop began to attract a good number of customers, and Lin Mao and Luo Yining enthusiastically attended to them. In the midst of the crowd, Luo Yining noticed a familiar figure—Lu Jiaxue!
Now aware that her father was the Duke of Ying, Luo Yining felt less intimidated by Lu Jiaxue, who still wore a fawning smile. He asked her if she needed anything and assured her he would help in any way he could. Realizing that the recent customers had come because of Lu Jiaxue, Luo Yining politely but firmly reminded him not to interfere in her life anymore.
