Xiangyun watched as Chu Kong's retreating figure brushed past her, tears streaming down her face. Though Chu Kong didn't look back, he still cast a spell to wipe away Xiangyun's tears. Xiuming returned to his celestial position and apologized to Xiangyun, explaining that he was unaware of the mortal realm events. Xiangyun understood, but suspicions about Xiuming's true intentions were aroused within Chu Kong. Xiangyun developed genuine feelings for Lu Changkong, yet confusion clouded her mind as she realized that Chu Kong, the Immortal Lord, wasn't actually Lu Changkong.

Chu Kong confronted Li Tianwang to settle scores and learned that the stories written by Li Tianwang were merely outlines, holding no power over their fate. Both Chu Kong and Xiangyun found themselves lost in the maze of their emotions for each other. Thirty thousand years ago, Canghai bestowed the Heavenly Dome Jade upon Xiuming, but now its radiance waned, and Xiuming grew increasingly worried about the well-being of Xiangyun's soul.

Chu Kong asked Xiangyun whom she should thank most for her promotion, and she expressed gratitude to many. Chu Kong felt stifled by this. Pretending to be angry, Chu Kong made Xiangyun copy the Heart Sutra, but in reality, his intention was to help her enhance her magical powers. Unfortunately, Xiangyun misunderstood this as a form of punishment.
