Her guardian, Jincheng, selected the most outstanding princes from various tribes, hoping for her to marry soon. In order to avoid an arranged marriage with a prince, she hid herself in the mortal realm. She arrived at the Marriage Fate Temple and encountered the man who frequently appeared in her dreams in front of the temple.

Canghai devised a scenario of a hero saving a damsel in distress, waiting for Chu Kong to rescue her and using this opportunity to get closer to him. Chu Kong brought Canghai back to a small cottage in the woods to recover from her injuries. Canghai disguised herself as the flower spirit Xiao Tang and pretended to be delicate in front of Chu Kong, evoking his pity. Under the pretext of gratitude, Canghai prepared a table of dishes for Chu Kong, intending to intoxicate him and release the Scorpion King, but her plan failed.

Haoxuan secretly ordered an attack on Chu Kong, hoping to injure him and prevent him from reaching the Mo Luo tribe. Canghai left and returned, rescuing Chu Kong and pretending to be injured. Chu Kong brought Canghai back to the cottage again for recovery, and they reconciled.
