Lu Changkong was studying the romantic stories that Xiangyun loved, getting lost in dreams of their marriage. Meanwhile, Xiangyun had a similar dream, but in hers, she saw Chu Kong raising a sword to kill her. This dream woke her up abruptly, and she decided to quickly distance herself from Lu Changkong. Since she hadn't found Yingshi yet, Xiangyun decided to find a new wife for Lu Changkong. She specifically asked him what kind of girl he liked, but Lu Changkong took this as an opportunity to confess his true feelings. Xiangyun was somewhat moved by his sincerity.

On the other side, Lu Changkong invited Xiangyun to the lantern festival, and she decided that during the festival, she would arrange a meeting between Miss Xie and Lu Changkong. During the festival, due to a mix-up, Zi Hui mistook Yingshi for Miss Xie and sent her a message to meet Chu Kong.

When Xiangyun realized the mistake, she hurried to the meeting place, only to find that Lu Changkong had been waiting there. He confessed his feelings to Xiangyun and took her to the flower pavilion to see the carousel lanterns. Unexpectedly, Yingshi arrived for the appointment, and Xiangyun, in a state of emotional turmoil, fled from the scene. Yingshi was rejected by Lu Changkong, thinking that Xiangyun had intentionally made him look bad, and ordered her maidservant to push Xiangyun into the water.
