At the time, Zheng Silang had already written a breakup letter to Huan Lang. However, upon seeing Huan Lang make a comeback and become a shareholder in Mingjing Pavilion, Zheng Silang was eager to help his father sell the tribute goods that had been stolen by the Li Long bandits. Hearing that Mingjing Pavilion was purchasing jewelry raw materials, he came up with a plan.

He sought out Huan Lang again, tearfully claiming that his father had forced him to write the breakup letter. He promised that he would bring Huan Lang into the family once again and, after receiving Huan Lang's forgiveness, he asked for her help in secretly selling the jewelry dowry that his mother had been saving up. Late at night, Duan Wu was still drawing jewelry designs under the lamp.

In the quiet hours, she often thought back to the moments she shared with Yan Zijing. Before confronting the Li Long bandits, their relationship had been sweet. She couldn’t understand what had happened afterward. Now, whenever she saw Yan Zijing in Hangzhou, she felt a sense of familiarity, but Yan Zijing always seemed hesitant to speak. She suspected there was a reason behind it. Meanwhile, Yan Zijing was plotting to completely eliminate the Li Long bandits.

Recently, without a cure for his condition, he had started coughing up blood. His subordinates took great care of him, but they were also concerned that his body couldn’t withstand the strain.
