Today is Fang Xiewen's birthday. He wanted to invite Huang Yimei to have longevity noodles. Seeing Huang Yimei dressed in a beautiful evening gown, ready to go to an appointment, he hesitated and didn't mention his birthday.

Huang Yimei attended the charity gala in her elegant attire. The event was lively with music and dancing, and men frequently approached her with friendly gestures. However, she felt out of place and uninterested in engaging with them. Suddenly, she remembered that it was Fang Xiewen's birthday. She had seen his ID when she accompanied him to the hospital for his wound dressing. Eager to leave and find Fang Xiewen, she expressed her discomfort to Jiang Xueqiong, who allowed her to leave early.

Huang Yimei changed out of her gown, removed her heavy makeup, bought a small cake, and personally made longevity noodles. After the gala, Jiang Xueqiong called Su Gengsheng and shared all the changes in Huang Yimei. Su Gengsheng felt that this was the real Huang Yimei, and Huang Zhenhua, seeing how well Su Gengsheng understood Huang Yimei, felt both envious and touched.

When Fang Xiewen returned home from work, he was moved to tears to see that Huang Yimei had not only prepared a birthday cake but also made a bowl of longevity noodles for him. Despite forgetting to add salt, Fang Xiewen thought it was the best noodles he had ever tasted. Huang Yimei brought out the cake and sang a birthday song for him, and Fang Xiewen couldn't help but kiss her.

Spring 2006 arrived quickly. On the wedding anniversary of Wu Yuejiang and Huang Jianzhi, Huang Yimei bought gifts for her parents and had a video call with them, seizing the opportunity to mention bringing Fang Xiewen to Beijing before her graduation. Her parents were delighted. Huang Zhenhua wanted to take Su Gengsheng home to meet his parents, but she wasn't thinking about marriage yet and preferred to continue their relationship. Huang Zhenhua didn't press the issue.

Huang Yimei brought Fang Xiewen home, where Wu Yuejiang and Huang Jianzhi warmly welcomed him. Wu Yuejiang prepared a large meal, and Huang Jianzhi asked Huang Zhenhua to take Fang Xiewen for a tour of Beijing, but he made excuses to avoid it. Huang Yimei was very upset, as Huang Zhenhua thought Fang Xiewen was unworthy of her and compared him to Zhuang Guodong. Huang Yimei firmly supported Fang Xiewen and wouldn't allow Huang Zhenhua to speak ill of him in front of their parents.

Huang Jianzhi and Fang Xiewen had a great conversation. Fang Xiewen briefly introduced his work and then looked through Huang Jianzhi's book collection, sharing his different views on the theories in the books. Impressed, Huang Jianzhi's opinion of him improved. Fang Xiewen praised Wu Yuejiang's cooking and asked her for tips, further winning her approval. Wu Yuejiang was concerned that Huang Yimei might stay in Shanghai after graduation, but Fang Xiewen offered to quit his job and accompany her to Beijing, which delighted Wu Yuejiang.

Huang Zhenhua remained cold towards Fang Xiewen, thinking he was trying to ingratiate himself with their parents and tightly control Huang Yimei. He vented his frustrations to Su Gengsheng, who advised him not to worry unnecessarily. Huang Jianzhi, however, grew suspicious of Fang Xiewen's flawless behavior, feeling he might be hiding something, while Wu Yuejiang held a favorable view of him.

Su Gengsheng called her mother to urge her to transfer the house ownership, but her mother made various excuses to delay. Su Gengsheng decided to take leave and handle it herself. Huang Zhenhua offered to lend her money to solve the family issues, but Su Gengsheng politely declined. She advised Huang Yimei to be cautious in her relationship, fearing she might get hurt again, but Huang Yimei was devoted to Fang Xiewen.

Su Gengsheng liked a new apartment and paid the down payment before showing it to Huang Zhenhua. He wanted to share the burden, but Su Gengsheng insisted on buying it herself, not wanting to rely on anyone. Feeling like an outsider, Huang Zhenhua argued with her, leading to an unhappy parting.

Huang Zhenhua was distracted all day. Wu Yuejiang, guessing he had a fight with Su Gengsheng, advised him to understand her difficulties. Knowing about Su Gengsheng's tragic past and her guarded nature, Huang Zhenhua felt at peace after reflecting on these matters.
