Su Gengsheng's down payment for her house was finally accepted, and she and Huang Zhenhua went together to inspect the house. Su Gengsheng signed the contract on the spot and finally had a home of her own. She was so emotional that she couldn't stop crying. Huang Zhenhua was happy for her and gave her many suggestions for renovations. Fang's mother had brought many clothes, filling the bed and table, and even replaced the everlasting flowers Huang Yimei had planted with garlic. Huang Yimei wanted Fang's mother and Fang Xiewen to move upstairs so she could live alone downstairs, but Fang Xiewen disagreed and asked her to compromise, making Huang Yimei feel uncomfortable.

Haizi carefully selected a graduate student who had studied abroad from many applicants, but Fang Xiewen didn't hire him just because he, like Zhuang Guodong, had studied abroad. Haizi, having personally tested the applicant's professional skills and found him suitable, wanted to discuss this with one of the shareholders, Huang Yimei. Fang Xiewen threatened to transfer all of Huang Yimei's shares to himself once they made money. Haizi stormed out in anger.

When Huang Yimei went to the publishing house, she found out that Fang Xiewen had resigned on her behalf without her knowledge. She loved her job, but Fang Xiewen had secretly handled all the procedures using her ID. The editor-in-chief was helpless.

Huang Zhenhua supervised the renovation and quickly completed it, buying new furniture as well. He took Su Gengsheng to see the new house, and she was very satisfied until she saw the bathtub, which made her face change dramatically. Huang Zhenhua was puzzled, as he had carefully chosen it.

Huang Yimei packed her things to go home, calling Fang Xiewen to come back immediately, but he excused himself, saying he had two more interviews. Huang Yimei was furious, and Fang's mother made sarcastic comments, prompting Huang Yimei to leave home in anger and call Su Gengsheng to vent.

Fang Xiewen bought several dishes Huang Yimei liked and returned home, but she had no appetite and went to her room alone. Fang's mother, disapproving of Huang Yimei, spoke ill of her to Fang Xiewen.

Fang Xiewen apologized to Huang Yimei, urging her to rest at home and claiming that the editor-in-chief was happy about her resignation. Su Gengsheng had the bathtub removed, angering Huang Zhenhua, who felt his hard work was wasted as Su Gengsheng made the decision without consulting him. They had a heated argument and parted unhappily.

Fang Xiewen and Huang Yimei argued, with Fang's mother badmouthing Huang Yimei in Korean. Unable to tolerate it anymore, Huang Yimei demanded they speak Mandarin. Fang's mother, humiliated, shouted at Huang Yimei. Fang Xiewen managed to calm his mother down and spoke kindly to Huang Yimei.
