Fang Xiewen took the liberty of resigning on behalf of Huang Yimei, which led to a big argument between them. During a video call with her parents, Wu Yuejiang was not at home, so Huang Yimei poured out her grievances to Huang Jianzhi. He showed genuine concern and advised her to follow her heart. Huang Jianzhi grew more worried and discussed with Wu Yuejiang about going to Shanghai to see Huang Yimei.

Su Gengsheng took the initiative to reconcile with Huang Zhenhua, bringing roasted duck as a peace offering. Since childhood, Huang Zhenhua had longed to freely bathe in the large bathtub at home, but the bathtub was a haunting nightmare for Su Gengsheng. Unable to express her feelings directly, tensions rose during their conversation until Huang Zhenhua suddenly understood the reason behind Su Gengsheng's reluctance and apologized to her. However, their emotions flared up again over Huang Zhenhua's fishing plans. Su Gengsheng, unwilling to argue further, chose to leave.

Fang Xiewen set his sights on a 130-square-meter three-bedroom apartment and wanted his mother to live together with them. Huang Yimei opposed living under the same roof with Fang Xiewen's mother and suggested buying two smaller apartments in the same neighborhood to avoid unnecessary conflicts. Fang Xiewen insisted on buying the larger house, comparing themselves to overseas settled Chinese. Huang Yimei realized he regarded Zhuang Guodong as an imaginary rival and decided to remain silent to avoid further arguments.

Huang Zhenhua packed up to go fishing but was interrupted by a call from Bai Erru, rushing to the Bai family villa. Bai Erru was preparing a plot of land to build a resort hotel and sought Huang Zhenhua's help in designing it. Huang Zhenhua eagerly agreed but was caught red-handed by his colleagues for working on the designs secretly.

Fang Xiewen's mother, casual and unrefined, clashed with Huang Yimei, who felt suffocated by her constant presence and supervision. Unable to escape, Huang Yimei walked aimlessly in the streets, finding solace by the riverbank and buying herself flowers. Fang Xiewen's mother complained to Fang Xiewen about Huang Yimei's behavior, leading him to suspect Huang Yimei was meeting someone outside, causing further tension in their relationship.

Fang Xiewen used the excuse of not having enough down payment for the house to borrow the last 20,000 yuan from Huang Yimei. Feeling trapped under Fang Xiewen's mother's surveillance, Huang Yimei went out every day to clear her mind. She confided her grievances to Su Gengsheng over the phone, rejecting any financial help, as her distress couldn't be eased with money.

Bai Erru was pleased with Huang Zhenhua's design proposals and proposed establishing a construction company with Huang Zhenhua as vice president or funding Huang Zhenhua to start his own firm. Bai Erru also understood the issues Huang Zhenhua faced at his current job and advised him to consider carefully.

Wu Yuejiang and Huang Jianzhi arrived in Shanghai to see Huang Yimei, who was out relaxing in the park. Fang Xiewen's mother cooked diligently, trying to impress them, while Fang Xiewen explained the circumstances of Huang Yimei's resignation, which they understood. Later, Huang Yimei returned home emotionally overwhelmed and cried in Wu Yuejiang's arms, expressing her distress.
