Huang Yimei insisted on wearing a skirt to the interview despite Fang Xiewen's opposition. Fang Xiewen was very unhappy and had no mood to play with their daughter, Fang Taichu. He sat in the room, restless and worried as it was getting dark, and Huang Yimei had not yet returned. Fang Xiewen called and messaged her, but Huang Yimei had silenced her phone during the interview and couldn't be reached.

Fang Taichu started crying for food, so Fang Xiewen reluctantly took some eggs and vegetables from the fridge to prepare dinner. Fang Xiewen warned Fang Taichu not to touch the eggs, but she didn't listen and secretly took one to play with. She accidentally dropped it, and it shattered on the floor. Already in a bad mood, Fang Xiewen lost his temper and yelled at Fang Taichu, causing her to cry uncontrollably.

Just then, Huang Yimei came home and heard her daughter crying as she entered. She quickly picked up Fang Taichu, comforting her with concern. Fang Xiewen yelled at Huang Yimei, forbidding her from working and insisting she stay home to have a son. Huang Yimei refused to have a second child and insisted on working, leading to another intense argument. They ended up sleeping in separate rooms. Huang Zhenhua took Su Gengsheng to visit his parents.

Su Gengsheng showed them photos of Fang Taichu, making them beam with joy. They urged Su Gengsheng and Huang Zhenhua to get married and have children soon. Knowing that Su Gengsheng didn't want kids, Huang Zhenhua forcefully pulled her away. Su Gengsheng wanted to tell Huang Zhenhua about her past but couldn’t bring herself to do it, feeling conflicted. Huang Yimei didn’t receive any notification from the international school, so she prepared to continue submitting resumes.

Fang Xiewen adamantly refused, thinking he had earned enough money and insisting she have a second child. Unwilling to listen to his nagging, Huang Yimei angrily went to sleep in the study. Huang Zhenhua and Su Gengsheng planned to register their marriage today. Summoning her courage, Su Gengsheng confessed everything: in high school, she had a like-minded boy, and they both got into a university in Beijing. After graduation, the man was assigned to a public institution.

They got married, which gave Su Gengsheng a Beijing household registration and a house, but they realized their relationship was based on benefits, so they divorced. Huang Zhenhua was shocked when he learned about Su Gengsheng’s stepfather's abuse. Now, learning about her marriage, he was torn and didn’t know what to do.

Wu Yuejiang prepared a big meal to celebrate for Huang Zhenhua and Su Gengsheng, but Huang Zhenhua lied, saying he had business at the company and didn't go to register the marriage. Wu Yuejiang didn’t ask further questions. Huang Zhenhua drank alone at a bar and eventually took a cab back to his parents' house. Early in the morning, Wu Yuejiang found Huang Zhenhua sleeping on the sofa and curiously asked what happened the previous day.

Huang Zhenhua had bitterness he couldn’t express. Fang Xiewen discussed with Lin Hao about selling the company shares to Yuanhang Group. Fang Xiewen changed his mind last minute and sold the shares to Tianlangxing for five million. Lin Hao came to argue with Fang Xiewen, but he dismissed him, claiming his majority shareholder status, causing Lin Hao to leave in anger. Huang Yimei called to congratulate Huang Zhenhua, only to learn that he and Su Gengsheng hadn’t registered their marriage.

Worried, she packed to return to Beijing, asking Fang Xiewen to take care of Fang Taichu. Fang Xiewen forbade her from going and yelled at her over the phone. Frustrated, Huang Yimei hung up and took Fang Taichu to Beijing, leaving a note for Fang Xiewen. As soon as she arrived in Beijing, Huang Yimei visited Su Gengsheng. Learning about Su Gengsheng’s experiences, Huang Yimei sympathized with her difficulties.

Su Gengsheng hadn’t planned to marry Huang Zhenhua and regretted not being honest about her past. She wanted to break up with Huang Zhenhua and asked Huang Yimei to persuade him. Fang Xiewen came home from work and saw Huang Yimei's note, infuriating him. He called her in anger, but she turned off her phone.

Fang Xiewen asked his secretary to book the earliest flight to Beijing the next day, only to remember he had a merger meeting with Tianlangxing, so he had to cancel the plan. Huang Yimei persuaded Huang Zhenhua to break up with Su Gengsheng. Huang Zhenhua didn’t want to leave Su Gengsheng but felt conflicted. Huang Yimei gently advised him. Later, Huang Yimei visited Jiang Xueqiong and learned that her ex-husband, Lao Gu, had passed away.

Jiang Xueqiong had stayed by his side but didn’t attend his funeral, acting as if he were still alive, which deeply moved Huang Yimei. Huang Zhenhua visited Su Gengsheng and asked her to join him for a marathon.
