Huang Zhenhua and Su Gengsheng did some simple warm-ups and started the marathon. Determined not to fall behind, Huang Zhenhua led the first five kilometers, but his stamina began to wane, and Su Gengsheng left him far behind. Huang Zhenhua pushed himself to catch up, sweating profusely. Su Gengsheng stopped to wait for him, and once he caught his breath, she continued to lead him forward.

Exhausted, Huang Zhenhua struggled to keep up, and Su Gengsheng was also drenched in sweat. Both of them were too tired to run and could only walk slowly. It was already dark by the time they finished the marathon. Huang Zhenhua felt that life was like a marathon; whenever he felt like giving up, seeing Su Gengsheng gave him the motivation to continue. Su Gengsheng thought this run was a symbolic breakup ritual for Huang Zhenhua, but to her surprise, Huang Zhenhua had intended it as a punishment for her. He then proposed they go to Phuket for their honeymoon, bringing Su Gengsheng to tears.

Wu Yuejiang and Huang Jianzhi were out for a walk and saw Huang Zhenhua leaning on Su Gengsheng from a distance. They were deeply relieved and hurried home to prepare the household registration book.

Jiang Xueqiong took Huang Yimei to get their nails done and casually mentioned her desire to open an art gallery. Huang Yimei admired Jiang Xueqiong’s courage and also wanted to plan her own life better. Fang Xiewen returned to an empty house and inadvertently opened Huang Yimei’s computer, discovering the employment offer from the international school.

Huang Zhenhua limped home, and Wu Yuejiang quickly handed him the household registration book. Fang Xiewen called Huang Yimei, urging her to return to Shanghai quickly, but she wanted to stay a few more days. In anger, Fang Xiewen called Teacher Liu at the school, falsely claiming that Huang Yimei was pregnant and couldn't come to work. Huang Zhenhua truthfully told his parents about Su Gengsheng's past and, with their consent, decided to marry her immediately.

Huang Yimei packed her bags and took Fang Taichu back to Shanghai. Su Gengsheng saw them off at the airport. Huang Yimei vented her frustrations to Su Gengsheng, who didn’t know how to comfort her and just stayed silently by her side. Back in their Shanghai home, Fang Xiewen eagerly asked Fang Taichu about their activities in Beijing. Huang Yimei found this very annoying. Fang Xiewen noticed that Huang Yimei had gotten her nails done, which displeased him, but Huang Yimei liked them very much.

Huang Yimei checked her email but didn’t receive any notification from the international school. Fang Xiewen suggested that Fang Taichu sleep with them, and Huang Yimei reluctantly agreed. While putting Fang Taichu to sleep, Fang Xiewen tried to make amends with Huang Yimei, but she quickly left for the study. Fang Xiewen then took her phone, which she had left on the nightstand, and installed a tracking app on it.

Lin Hao submitted his resignation to Fang Xiewen, who didn't try to stop him. Fang Xiewen couldn't understand why Lin Hao couldn't be content with earning money and always wanted to take risks. Lin Hao wanted to try something more meaningful than just making money. Huang Yimei went to the international school to ask Teacher Liu about the interview results, only to find out she had been accepted, but Fang Xiewen had declined on her behalf, claiming she was pregnant. Furious, Huang Yimei called Fang Xiewen home.

Fang Xiewen tracked Huang Yimei's movements and found out she had gone to the international school, realizing she knew what he had done. Huang Yimei demanded a divorce, but Fang Xiewen accused her of having an affair. Huang Yimei couldn't provide Fang Xiewen with the son he wanted and didn’t receive his trust or respect. Fang Xiewen firmly refused the divorce and threatened to prevent her from seeing their child. Huang Yimei decided to file for divorce.
