Su's mother thought that Huang Zhenhua had changed his mind upon learning about Su Gengsheng's past trauma and asked Su Gengsheng to come back and reclaim the 200,000 yuan. Little did she know, Su Gengsheng had already informed Huang Zhenhua about the matter. After Su Gengsheng was sexually assaulted by her stepfather, Su's mother blamed her entirely, yelling at her and causing Su Gengsheng to tremble whenever she recalled the incident.

Su's mother admitted that Su Gengsheng had suffered greatly, but to save face, she refused to face the truth. Su Gengsheng was furious whenever she thought about it. She wanted to press charges against her stepfather, but her younger brother, being too young, was unwilling to testify. Su's mother claimed that she couldn't continue living with Su Gengsheng and followed her current husband just to have food to eat. Su Gengsheng was furious and hurt, feeling betrayed by her mother's actions. Her mother shamelessly stated that it was fortunate that her stepfather had chosen Su Gengsheng; otherwise, she couldn't live on. Su Gengsheng was left breathless by her mother's words and left the house in a daze.

Fu Jiaming woke up early and felt incredibly happy seeing Huang Yimei sleeping beside him. Suddenly, the alarm went off, and Fu Jiaming quickly took his medicine, waking Huang Yimei up in the process. Su Gengsheng returned to Beijing and called Huang Yimei out, pouring out her troubles to her. Huang Yimei kindly advised her, thinking that leaving that home would help Su Gengsheng forget everything, but the distressing memories persisted. She asked Huang Yimei to find a counselor for her.

Su Gengsheng decided to withdraw her investment fund to repay Zhou Shihui through Huang Zhenhua. Huang Zhenhua promised to consult Su Gengsheng first if similar issues arose in the future. Fu Jiamin and Mi Mi began preparing for their wedding, wanting a traditional Chinese ceremony. However, Fu Jiamin's parents were deceased, making the traditional bowing ceremony impossible. Mi Mi was distraught, and Huang Zhenhua suggested that his parents take the place of the deceased elders for the ceremony, which Wu Yuejiang and Huang Jianzhi initially found absurd but eventually agreed to.

The wedding proceeded smoothly, with Wu Yuejiang and Huang Jianzhi dressed up elegantly. Huang Zhenhua had them sit on the stage to receive the bows. Huang Yimei was busy coordinating everything, while Fu Jiaming was busy in the kitchen. He whispered in Huang Yimei's ear from time to time, exchanging meaningful glances. Wu Yuejiang and Huang Jianzhi noticed everything. After the ceremony, guests started to take their seats, but Fu Jiaming collapsed due to exhaustion and a congenital heart condition.

Huang Zhenhua and others rushed Fu Jiaming to the hospital. Fu Jiamin and Mi Mi arrived later. Huang Zhenhua and Huang Yimei only then learned about Fu Jiaming's congenital heart condition and surgeries. Huang Yimei was shocked. After intensive care, Fu Jiaming stabilized but remained unconscious, so he was transferred to the ICU. Huang Zhenhua asked Fu Jiamin to prepare household items at home.

Huang Zhenhua hurried home and truthfully told his parents about Fu Jiaming's condition, frightening Fang Xiewen, who went to great lengths to comfort him. Huang Yimei stayed by the ICU door, anxiously watching over Fu Jiaming. When Fu Jiaming finally woke up, Huang Yimei was overjoyed. Fu Jiaming had never told Huang Yimei about his condition, wishing to live a normal life. However, fate had other plans.

Su Gengsheng came to pick up Huang Yimei from the hospital. Fang Xiewen suddenly called Huang Yimei, asking her to take Fang Lian to Shanghai. Huang Yimei made excuses about being busy lately, and Fang Xiewen reminded her to find a healthy boyfriend for Fang Lian and not let her be hurt again. Huang Yimei didn't know how to respond, silently shedding tears. Su Gengsheng also didn't know how to comfort Huang Yimei.

Huang Yimei told stories to soothe Fang Lian to sleep. Fang Lian asked about Fu Jiaming's condition, and Huang Yimei explained in simple terms that being sick was normal. Fang Lian, with her innocent heart, was able to let go of her worries and suggested visiting Fu Jiaming. Huang Yimei promised to wait until Fu Jiaming recovered a bit more. Fu Jiaming's sudden illness caught Huang Yimei off guard, and she didn't know what to do. She sought advice from her father, Huang Jianzhi, who respected her decision as long as she was happy.

Huang Zhenhua didn't want to see Huang Yimei sad and couldn't bear to see her break up with Fu Jiaming. Su Gengsheng advised Huang Zhenhua not to worry unnecessarily, believing Huang Yimei could handle life and death. Huang Yimei stayed by Fu Jiaming's side in the hospital. The snoring from the patient in the next bed was loud and rhythmic, causing both Fu Jiaming and Huang Yimei to suppress their laughter.
