The Untamed Episode 19 Recap
> The Untamed Recap
Seven days later, Wei Wuxian appeared in the marketplace. He wore a bamboo hat, his face pale and filled with pain as he clutched his abdomen, seemingly in great discomfort. He had agreed to meet Jiang Cheng here, so he entered a teahouse to wait. Unexpectedly, he was intercepted by Wen Chao. With a vicious expression, Wen Chao stepped on Wei Wuxian's hand, pinning him to the ground.
Wei Wuxian, too weak to fight back, coughed up blood from the severe beating. Meanwhile, Jiang Cheng was on a lush green mountain. In his daze, he dreamt of returning to Lotus Pier, recalling the warm moments spent with his parents. However, his dream quickly turned into a nightmare — his mother’s eyes bled, the Lotus Pier was engulfed in flames, and Wen Zhuliu struck him heavily, destroying all his cultivation.
Jiang Cheng woke up screaming, only to realize he was lying at the mountain’s summit, his body surging with spiritual power. Foolishly, he assumed this was the work of Baoshan Sanren, not knowing that Wei Wuxian had already sacrificed his own golden core to restore Jiang Cheng’s. At that moment, Wei Wuxian, now powerless without his golden core, was being cruelly tortured by Wen Chao and Wang Lingjiao.
They viciously beat him, demanding he reveal Jiang Cheng's whereabouts, but Wei Wuxian refused to speak. Furious, Wen Chao maliciously planned to destroy Wei Wuxian’s golden core and cripple his arms to make his life a living hell. Wei Wuxian laughed wildly, showing no fear. He swore that even if he died, he would return as a vengeful ghost to haunt Wen Chao.
Wang Lingjiao scoffed and ignored his threats, grabbing a scorching hot branding iron and ruthlessly pressing it onto Wei Wuxian’s old wound, causing it to tear open and gush with fresh blood. Despite the excruciating pain, Wei Wuxian clenched his teeth and did not utter a sound. Frustrated by his unyielding defiance, Wen Chao decided to take him to the Burial Mound in Yiling — a place filled with countless corpses, heavy resentment, and deadly hostility.
Anyone who entered never came out alive. With a sinister grin, Wen Chao shoved Wei Wuxian off the cliff. Wei Wuxian screamed as he fell into the sea of black mist, eventually hitting the ground and losing consciousness. Because Wen Qing had secretly helped Wei Wuxian, she was thrown into prison and placed under heavy surveillance, while Wen Ning was severely beaten, his face bruised and swollen.
Wen Qing held her brother, heartbroken, while Wen Ning kept asking if Wei Wuxian was safe. At the Burial Mound, Wei Wuxian gradually regained consciousness. He found himself lying amidst withered weeds, surrounded by darkness and chilling wails of agony. In the distance, he saw the black sword he once pulled from the Xuanwu of Slaughter. His body and spirit were severely damaged, his eyes bloodshot, but he gritted his teeth and dragged his battered body toward the sword.
The sinister voices around him grew louder, calling his name, demanding to know if he sought vengeance. Wei Wuxian used his last ounce of strength to grip the sword’s hilt and stabbed it heavily into the ground. His once bright and carefree nature was now utterly consumed by bloodthirsty vengeance. Three months later, in Qishan, a group of Wen Clan lackeys brazenly discussed the extermination of the Jiang family and the torture of Wei Wuxian.
Suddenly, Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng stormed in, their expressions cold and menacing. Lan Wangji demanded to know Wei Wuxian’s whereabouts. The terrified lackeys confessed that Wei Wuxian had been thrown into the Burial Mound. Both Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng were shocked. Before long, the Lan Clan discovered Wei Wuxian’s sword, now sealed and unable to be drawn by anyone. Meanwhile, in Qishan, Wen Chao was reading a letter when Wang Lingjiao suddenly screamed in terror.
Wen Chao, annoyed, scolded her harshly. Wang Lingjiao trembled in fear, haunted by nightmares of Wei Wuxian returning as a vengeful ghost. Wen Chao dismissed her fears and stormed out. Shivering, Wang Lingjiao picked up the crumpled letter, which stated that the major clans were gathering in Lanling to launch a joint attack on the Wen Clan — the beginning of the Sunshot Campaign. The Sunshot Campaign progressed rapidly.
Nie Mingjue personally killed Wen Xu, and Jin Zixuan safely escorted Jiang Yanli to Qinghe. Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji soon reunited with Jiang Yanli, who was overwhelmed with joy to see her brother again. However, upon learning that Wei Wuxian was missing, her heart sank in despair. Strangely, Nie Mingjue noticed that Meng Yao did not seek refuge with the Jin Clan but instead vanished without a trace. Wang Lingjiao, sensing the Wen Clan's imminent downfall, began plotting her escape.
She gathered her valuables, preparing to flee. But when she opened her jewelry box, she was horrified to find a pair of freshly gouged-out eyes soaked in blood. Screaming, she desperately grabbed a talisman from the door and pressed it to her chest. Trembling, she cautiously checked the box again, only to find gold and silver jewelry inside. Relieved but still uneasy, she hugged the treasures tightly, unaware that her nightmare had only just begun.
