Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian found a teahouse to sit for a while. The two of them remained silent, with only Wen Yuan excitedly running around. Wen Yuan liked Lan Wangji very much, constantly circling around him. Lan Wangji also seemed to like the child, indulgently pulling him into his embrace. Wei Wuxian asked Lan Wangji what brought him to Yiling. Lan Wangji remained silent, so Wei Wuxian couldn't help but tease, "Could it be that you came for me?

" In truth, Wei Wuxian understood Lan Wangji’s intentions, but he simply didn’t want to listen to those tranquil melodies. He would rather hear about interesting happenings in the outside world. Lan Wangji finally spoke, saying that in half a month, Jiang Yanli would be marrying Jin Zixuan. Wei Wuxian was first shocked, then a little despondent. Such an important event, yet he knew nothing about it. But then again, even if he did, what difference would it make?

No matter what, in Wei Wuxian’s eyes, Jin Zixuan was unworthy of the gentle Jiang Yanli. His senior sister was the best person in the world. Lan Wangji wanted to offer some words of comfort, but before he could, Wei Wuxian suddenly pulled out a talisman. The moment it appeared, it burned into ashes. Wei Wuxian's face changed drastically. Realizing that something had happened at the Burial Mound, he quickly grabbed Wen Yuan and rushed back.

Lan Wangji, uneasy, followed after him. Upon returning, Wei Wuxian discovered that it was Wen Ning who had lost control. His eyes were pure white, his entire body exuding a heavy killing aura as he wildly attacked others. Wei Wuxian told Lan Wangji that he had been using the Yin Tiger Tally to treat Wen Ning, hoping to restore his consciousness. But somehow, Wen Ning had broken through the restraints on his own and ended up in this state.

At that moment, even Wei Wuxian was unable to subdue Wen Ning. Fortunately, Lan Wangji played his guqin to calm him, slowing Wen Ning’s movements. Wei Wuxian seized the opportunity to use a talisman to seal Wen Ning, restoring his peace. Once Wen Ning was calm, he reopened his eyes, and at last, his pupils had returned to black. Though his speech was hesitant, he was at least able to recognize Wei Wuxian and Wen Qing.

Overjoyed, Wen Qing burst into tears and hugged her younger brother tightly. Wei Wuxian took Wen Ning’s pulse and reassured them that Wen Ning had merely experienced a nightmare, but now everything was fine. Wei Wuxian then invited Lan Wangji to visit the Demon-Suppressing Cave on the Burial Mound.

Seeing the blood pool and rows of talismans inside, Lan Wangji remained worried about Wei Wuxian, fearing that one day, he would lose control over the Yin Tiger Tally and bring about disaster. Wei Wuxian repeatedly assured him that he would not let the Yin Tiger Tally spiral out of control. Just then, the Wen siblings entered. Wen Ning was now walking and speaking no differently from a normal person.

As they chatted and laughed together, it seemed as if the darkness of the past had never existed. As it grew late, Wei Wuxian walked Lan Wangji down the mountain. He spoke his true feelings, admitting that he had no other choice but to end up here. Now, he had to protect the Wen clan survivors, and there was no other path for him.

Wen Yuan was reluctant to part with Lan Wangji, but everyone had their own path to walk. Lan Wangji could not stay at the Burial Mound for long and had no choice but to leave. Wei Wuxian carried Wen Yuan back up the mountain, only to see that the Burial Mound was decorated with many red lanterns.

It turned out that the Wen clan survivors wanted to properly thank him for taking care of them, so they had prepared a feast with fine wine. Wei Wuxian was touched and celebrated heartily with everyone. After several rounds of drinks, he drunkenly confessed his frustrations. He mumbled about how he had once promised his senior sister the most grand wedding, yet now, he couldn't even attend it.

He rambled on about how useless he was, and Wen Qing’s eyes were filled with heartache. Meanwhile, rumors about the Yiling Patriarch, Wei Wuxian, and the Ghost General, Wen Ning, were spreading among the people. Some even impersonated Wei Wuxian’s supposed "first disciple," using his name to scam others in the marketplace. No one could have imagined that the fearsome Wei Wuxian was, at this very moment, happily selling radishes alongside Wen Ning.
