The Untamed Episode 30 Recap
> The Untamed Recap
Wei Wuxian and Wen Ning carried a large sack of radishes to the market to sell. Wen Ning, looking adorably clueless, held up a radish and called out softly, but no one paid him any attention. Just then, the swindler impersonating Wei Wuxian appeared again to deceive people. With a small trick, Wei Wuxian quickly taught him a lesson. As he wandered around in high spirits, he suddenly froze as if struck by lightning—he had spotted Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng didn’t say much and simply led Wei Wuxian to a courtyard. Wei Wuxian was still in shock when he suddenly saw a figure standing in the yard, draped in a black cloak. That person slowly turned around—it was Jiang Yanli. She smiled warmly and removed her cloak, revealing a bright red wedding robe with an elaborate phoenix coronet, looking stunning. Wei Wuxian was momentarily dazed.
Jiang Yanli smiled and said that she was about to get married and had come specifically to let him see her in her wedding attire. Wei Wuxian was both surprised and overjoyed, showering her with praise. The three of them sat around the table just like in the past. Jiang Yanli had specially brought her signature lotus root and pork rib soup, serving it to her two younger brothers.
She even asked Wei Wuxian to choose a courtesy name for the child in her belly. After thinking for a moment, Wei Wuxian decided on "Rulan. "Wei Wuxian devoured the soup, feeling that his senior sister’s cooking was the most delicious thing in the world. The kind-hearted Jiang Yanli had even saved a bowl for Wen Ning, bringing it out for him. Wen Ning was overwhelmed by the gesture.
He took a careful sip, then immediately wanted to save the rest to bring back for Wen Yuan. Jiang Cheng held his bowl and "respectfully" toasted Wei Wuxian, hailing him as the Yiling Patriarch. Wei Wuxian nearly choked on his soup and hurriedly told Jiang Cheng to shut up. The two bickered just like before, all slick words and sharp tongues.
It turned out that their apparent fallout had been staged for outsiders—only by doing so could they silence the rumors. Jiang Cheng wanted to persuade Wei Wuxian to turn back, but Wei Wuxian had no path to return to. Nor did he want to turn back—he could only keep moving forward. And so, after this brief meeting, Wei Wuxian parted ways with Jiang Yanli and Jiang Cheng.
He was reluctant to leave his senior sister and Jiang Cheng, but there was nothing he could do. With tears in his eyes, he walked away. Wen Ning carefully carried the soup all the way back, not spilling a single drop, determined to give it to Wen Yuan. That night, Wei Wuxian had no appetite for dinner. He missed his senior sister deeply, even entertaining the whimsical idea of planting lotus roots on the Burial Mound.
After everyone had gone to rest, Wen Ning finally brought the lotus root and pork rib soup to Wen Yuan, who smacked his lips and earnestly savored the delicious taste. Wen Qing saw this and only then learned from Wen Ning that Wei Wuxian had met with Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli that day. Meanwhile, Wei Wuxian held the pendant his senior sister had given him earlier that day, feeling a mix of emotions.
He reminisced about the wonderful days spent at Lotus Pier, sighing endlessly—there was no going back. Wei Wuxian continued trying to grow lotus roots. After much effort, a small sprout finally emerged, only for the ignorant Wen Yuan to pluck it. Furious, Wei Wuxian scolded him, making Wen Yuan wail in fear. Wen Qing comforted Wen Yuan and told him to tell Wei Wuxian, "If you miss your sister, you should go visit her.
" So, Wen Yuan toddled over to deliver the message. Looking at the adorable child, Wei Wuxian felt his anger melt away instantly. Meanwhile, the Jin clan was busy preparing for Jin Zixuan’s wedding. Jin Guangyao was handling matters with great diligence, earning the satisfaction of both Jin Zixuan and Jin Guangshan. However, Jin Guangshan still harbored suspicions toward Jin Guangyao, his illegitimate son, firmly intending to pass the leadership of the Jin clan to Jin Zixuan.
A year later, Wei Wuxian was still selling radishes with Wen Ning when he heard the news that five days ago, Jiang Yanli had given birth to a baby boy, named Jin Ling, with the courtesy name Rulan. The Lanling Jin clan planned to host a grand banquet to celebrate. Wei Wuxian was all smiles, thrilled beyond words. Jin Guangyao seemed to adore little Jin Ling, playing with him using a rattle drum.
However, Jin Guangshan’s attitude toward Jin Guangyao remained cold, fueling the latter’s discontent. To celebrate the birth of a new heir, the Jin clan invited many prominent clan leaders and elders. Lan Wangji spoke up in defense of Wei Wuxian, arguing that since Wei Wuxian was also Jin Ling’s elder, he deserved an invitation to the Jin clan’s celebration. Lan Xichen agreed, and even Jin Zixuan acknowledged the reasoning.
Over the years, Wei Wuxian had not committed any grave misdeeds, and since Jiang Yanli cared deeply for him, this could be an opportunity for the siblings to reunite. Thus, Jin Guangyao suggested to Jin Guangshan that they send an invitation to Wei Wuxian, inviting him alone to Koi Tower for Jin Ling’s one-month celebration. Once he arrived, they would demand that he hand over the Yin Tiger Tally as an explanation to the public.
If Wei Wuxian refused, they would at least make him swear not to kill indiscriminately before letting him return to the Burial Mound. Jin Guangshan found the idea acceptable and prepared to have Lan Wangji deliver the invitation. Meanwhile, Jin Zixun seemed to be feeling unwell, and a deep, unreadable gleam flashed in Jin Guangyao’s eyes—as if everything was already under his control.
