Sizhui and Jin Ling talked about the Yiling Patriarch, Wei Wuxian. Jin Ling believed that all these bad things were secretly done by Wei Wuxian, but Sizhui did not think so, which made Jin Ling very displeased. It was not until Lan Wangji came downstairs that everyone scattered like birds and beasts.

Contrary to his usual behavior, Lan Wangji asked the shopkeeper for a pot of wine, leaving everyone stunned with their mouths agape, wondering why Lan Wangji, who had always followed the strict rules, was acting this way. At this moment, Wei Wuxian was in his room, bored out of his mind. He opened the window and saw Wen Ning hanging outside, his hair disheveled, looking somewhat frightening. However, Wen Ning did not mind.

He blinked and wanted to say a few more words. But just then, Lan Wangji walked in carrying the wine. In a panic, Wen Ning fell from the roof with a heavy thud, quickly got up, and fled in a hurry. Wei Wuxian, both amused and helpless, sat down and looked in surprise at the wine in Lan Wangji's hand. Without hesitation, he started drinking by himself.

Lan Wangji then brought up the serious matter—he hoped that next month, Wei Wuxian would accompany him to Jinlintai to attend the Discussion Conference and find Nie Mingjue’s head near Jin Guangyao. As Wei Wuxian hesitated, Lan Xichen also came over to persuade him, stating that if Jin Guangyao was truly a wicked man beyond redemption, he would not show any mercy. Thus, Wei Wuxian put on a mask and traveled to Jinlintai with the Lan brothers.

As the banquet began, Jin Guangyao entered gracefully with his wife, Qin Su. The two of them looked like a perfect match, a true pair made in heaven. Just as everyone was drinking and chatting, Nie Huaisang suddenly burst in, crying and pleading with Jin Guangyao to help him solve a problem.

Jin Guangyao had no choice but to take him to the backyard to talk in detail. Wei Wuxian noticed that the people of the Jin Clan were looking at him strangely. The paper effigy immediately came to life, agilely climbing onto Lan Wangji’s forehead and tugging at his forehead ribbon. Lan Wangji gently told the paper effigy not to cause trouble and reminded it to be extremely careful when investigating Jin Guangyao. With that, the paper effigy swiftly slipped out through the door crack and made its way to Jin Guangyao’s residence, the Fragrant Jade Hall.

It wriggled its thin body through a window slit and landed lightly on the desk, trying to examine the letters on the table. Unfortunately, the letters were pressed down, and the paper effigy was not strong enough to pull them out. Before it could succeed, Qin Su suddenly walked in.

The paper effigy quickly hid to the side and was shocked to see that Qin Su’s face was deathly pale, completely different from her lively expression in the banquet hall earlier. Qin Su trembled as she picked up a letter, but suddenly, Jin Guangyao’s voice rose behind her. Qin Su, shaking, told Jin Guangyao that she had just met someone, heard some things, and obtained this letter. Jin Guangyao kept his signature smile as he took the letter and carefully read through it. As she spoke, nausea overcame her, and she crouched down, dry heaving. Jin Guangyao responded calmly, saying that they had lived harmoniously for so many years, their marriage was once blissful, and as long as Qin Su did not mind, everything could go back to the way it was. Qin Su refused to believe Jin Guangyao’s lies any longer. She thought of their deceased son, A-Song, and felt a chill deep in her heart.

A terrifying suspicion arose—was A-Song killed by Jin Guangyao? At this moment, Jin Guangyao had no time to think about that. He only wanted to know who had revealed everything to Qin Su. Qin Su struggled against him in anger. Only now did she finally see her husband’s true face—he was a man who had ruthlessly killed his own son, a man who would stop at nothing for power! Jin Guangyao’s eyes gleamed with cold light.

No matter what, A-Song had to die; if he had grown up, the secret would have been impossible to keep. Qin Su interrupted Jin Guangyao, slapping him twice with all her strength. Seeing that Qin Su refused to reveal the informant’s identity, Jin Guangyao made up his mind. He sealed some of Qin Su’s meridians and took her into a secret chamber. The paper effigy hurriedly followed behind.

Inside the secret chamber, Qin Su was restrained as Jin Guangyao pressured her to reveal the informant’s name. At that moment, the paper effigy accidentally made a faint noise. Jin Guangyao’s ears twitched, and his expression changed dramatically. Realizing that an intruder had sneaked into the chamber, he quickly hid Qin Su and cautiously approached a covered rack. Lowering his voice, he asked, “Were you just watching me?”

As he spoke, Jin Guangyao slowly lifted the curtain covered in talismans, revealing Nie Mingjue’s head. However, the head was encased in armor, with its eyes, ears, nose, and mouth all sealed, making it an eerie sight. Once Jin Guangyao moved away from the rack, the paper effigy slipped inside. Not only did it see Nie Mingjue’s head, but it also discovered the blueprint for creating the Yin Tiger Tally.

The paper effigy pressed itself against Nie Mingjue’s head, and at that moment, in Lan Wangji’s room, Wei Wuxian suddenly sat upright, his brows furrowed and his hands forming a gesture. Lan Wangji was startled—Wei Wuxian had begun empathizing.
