The Untamed Episode 50 (Ending) Recap
> The Untamed Recap
Jin Guangyao stared wide-eyed, pierced through the chest by Lan Xichen’s sword. Lan Xichen clenched his jaw—he had clearly said that if Jin Guangyao made another move, he would show no mercy. Why did Jin Guangyao still knowingly break the rules? Jin Guangyao gritted his teeth as well. He had done nothing! It was all Nie Huaisang’s doing! His features twisted in pain, but he forced himself to stand, staring daggers at Nie Huaisang’s innocent-looking face. So this was the infamous "I don’t know anything" act—he had hidden himself so well. To think that in the end, he had fallen into Nie Huaisang’s hands!
Lan Xichen was shocked, unsure of whom to believe. Jin Guangyao’s voice carried a hint of sobs as he spoke. He had harmed countless people and committed many crimes, but he had never once thought of harming Lan Xichen. Back when Lan Xichen was persecuted by the Wen Clan and left stranded, it was he, Jin Guangyao, who had taken him in, helped him rebuild the Lan Clan, and never once suppressed him. But in the end, Lan Xichen, just like Nie Mingjue, could not tolerate his existence! Jin Guangyao grew more agitated as he spoke, gripping the blade of the sword with his bare hands, blood streaming down. Since Lan Xichen refused to leave him a way out, then they would perish together.
With that, Jin Guangyao endured the pain and grabbed Lan Xichen by the shoulder, dragging them both toward Nie Mingjue’s coffin. His blood seeped into the coffin, causing it to tremble violently. Even the objects in the Guanyin Temple shook, signaling that the entire structure was about to collapse. Everyone rushed to escape. Jin Guangyao let out a tragic laugh, saying that he would take Lan Xichen with him in death. Lan Xichen still could not bring himself to kill Jin Guangyao. He resigned himself to his fate, prepared to die—yet, in the final moment, Jin Guangyao suddenly shoved Lan Xichen away with all his strength. He himself, along with Nie Mingjue’s coffin, was buried beneath the ruins.
Lan Xichen had survived, but he felt no joy. Sitting outside the Guanyin Temple, he was consumed by sorrow. He once thought he understood Jin Guangyao best. Then, after learning the truth about him, he believed he had finally seen him clearly. But after what had just happened, he was uncertain again. Jin Guangyao… just what kind of person was he?
Nie Huaisang sat beside Lan Xichen, comforting him. "Who can truly see through a person?" he mused. Lan Xichen slowly turned to look at him. He only wanted to know—had Nie Huaisang really seen Jin Guangyao trying to attack just now? A cold glint flashed in Nie Huaisang’s eyes, but his words remained the same—uncertain, unsure. Beneath that seemingly naive appearance lay a deeply calculating mind.
With Jin Guangyao’s death, the final scars on Wei Wuxian’s arm from the sacrificial ritual also healed. He decided to leave with Lan Wangji. Jin Ling searched everywhere for Wei Wuxian, only to learn from Jiang Cheng that he had already left. Throwing a childish tantrum, he complained that his uncle hadn’t tried to keep Wei Wuxian from leaving. Jiang Cheng pretended to raise his hand as if to hit him, telling him to stop causing trouble and go home.
Jin Ling chased after Jiang Cheng, asking if he had anything he wanted to say to Wei Wuxian. Jiang Cheng shook his head. His mind drifted back to that fateful day, when the three of them were fleeing and encountered the Wen Clan cultivators. He had drawn the enemies away for Wei Wuxian and was captured, losing his golden core. Just like how Wei Wuxian had given up his own golden core for him without ever revealing the truth, Jiang Cheng now found himself with no opportunity to speak the words he had buried for so long. In the end, he could only whisper, "Take care."
At that moment, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji were preparing to set off with Little Apple when Sizhui and Wen Ning caught up with them. Sizhui told Wei Wuxian that he had recently recalled some past memories—he remembered Wei Wuxian planting him in the ground like a radish, bringing him along to meals with Lan Wangji, only for Lan Wangji to be the one who ended up paying. Wei Wuxian’s expression shifted from shock to excitement, then disbelief. In his memories, Wen Yuan had already died.
Lan Wangji then told Wei Wuxian the truth he had never spoken before—Sizhui was Wen Yuan.
Overcome with emotion, Sizhui hugged Wei Wuxian. They laughed and played like they had in the past. Squatting down, Sizhui wrapped his arms around Wei Wuxian’s leg, just like he had done as a child. Wen Ning then told Wei Wuxian that he planned to take Sizhui back to Qishan to build a memorial for their lost clansmen. After that, he would send Sizhui to the Cloud Recesses—going forward, Sizhui would have to walk his own path. As for Wen Ning himself, he would no longer follow Wei Wuxian.
Wei Wuxian was happy for Wen Ning—he was finally going to live an independent and free life. He wished that Wen Ning would always be carefree and untroubled.
After bidding farewell to Sizhui and Wen Ning, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji returned to the Cloud Recesses. Lan Wangji had now taken on the role of Chief Cultivator, a heavy responsibility. There, they encountered Nie Huaisang once again. Wei Wuxian had long since figured it out—Nie Huaisang had been the one pulling the strings from behind the scenes. Curious, he asked, "After putting in so much effort, don’t you want to be the Chief Cultivator yourself?"
Nie Huaisang casually waved his fan, gazing out at the distant mountains. He remarked that he was a man who knew his limits. What he should do, he would never let another do in his place. What he should not do, he naturally had no interest in. With that, he strolled away at a leisurely pace.
Wei Wuxian had no desire to probe further. Everything was over, and there was no point in saying more. Free-spirited as ever, he decided to wander the world once again. Preparing to part ways with Lan Wangji, he declared that he would roam freely, his home wherever he pleased. But just as he led Little Apple into the lush green mountains, playing Chenqing without a care, a voice called out behind him. Wei Wuxian turned around in surprise—then, a joyous smile spread across his face…
