Synopsis
Li Xifeng, who entered the palace seeking revenge for his father, was unexpectedly chosen to become a princess and sent to the Tujue to gather military intelligence.
Li Xifeng initially intended to use the power of Khan Ji Lie to avenge his father, but he discovered that Ji Lie's reason for seeking the marriage alliance was because his elder brother had become a hostage in the Tang Dynasty, and marrying her was just a means to manipulate the Emperor of Tang Dynasty.
Behind Ji Lie's attempts to please her, he also intended to exploit her princess status to gather information, but he found out that Li Xifeng was a fake princess.
As the two individuals, harboring their respective grudges, went from concealing the truth to falling in love, they eventually found the happiness they desired.
Recap
After the fall of the Li Tang dynasty, the surrounding warlords became restless. The Kingdom of Jing forcefully detained the Crown Prince of Li Bei as a hostage, and the newly appointed Lord of Li Bei came to pressure Jing to form a marriage alliance. However, what no one expected was that a much larger conspiracy was about to unfold.
At this time, Li Xifeng was furious inside the house. She was planning to kill the King of Jing to avenge her deceased parents. Today, she was fully prepared and ready to carry out her assassination plan. She quickly tied up the real Princess Chang Le and disguised herself as her. Meanwhile, in the main hall, the Khan Ji Lie, the Lord of Li Bei, sat on one side, facing the King of Jing, confronting each other. Khan Ji Lie also proposed the request to marry Princess Chang Le. Shortly after, Princess Chang Le arrived at the scene, drawing everyone's attention to her.
Taking advantage of this opportune moment, Li Xifeng planned to openly assassinate Khan Ji Lie in front of everyone. However, she was unexpectedly stopped by him and he brought up the matter of the marriage proposal in front of the King of Jing.
Upon hearing this news, the Queen of Jing immediately agreed. Soon, the engagement between the two was carried out as scheduled. Li Xifeng sat in the bridal chamber, still thinking about assassinating Khan Ji Lie. She secretly sneaked into his room, searching for clues.
When Khan Ji Lie entered Li Xifeng's room, he half-believed that she was the masked person he had been chasing. He lifted her blanket, expecting to find the truth, but discovered that she was already lying down and asleep.
Upon leaving, he couldn't help but remind the person in front of him about the hunting event on the next day.
After the person left, Li Xifeng suddenly remembered what she had found in Khan Ji Lie's room. She planned to continue following the clues she had discovered to investigate the cause of her father's death.
On his way back, Khan Ji Lie organized his letters, still unsure of the true intentions of the female thief. He instructed his subordinates to strengthen their guard and continued to suspect the identity of Princess Chang Le in his heart.
Li Xifeng was well aware that Khan Ji Lie still had doubts about her. She intentionally pretended to be weak and acted as if she had no martial arts skills in front of him, making him lower his guard.
Later, Khan Ji Lie called her into his room and applied healing ointment to Li Xifeng's hand, which he had brought with him. Before leaving, he reminded her not to tarnish the reputation of the people of Li Bei.
Unexpectedly, during the banquet, Li Xifeng deliberately wore clothes from the Central Plains and boldly appeared in front of everyone. Khan Ji Lie quickly brought her to his side, criticizing her actions.
When Li Xifeng sat down, Khan Ji Lie was beside her, reproaching her for wearing different clothes.
Seeing the scene of their argument, the others present assumed that their relationship was very deep. They jokingly teased them in front of everyone. In order to save face, Khan Ji Lie reluctantly played along with Li Xifeng, putting on a good show.
He quickly raised his wine cup and toasted the guests present. Then, he deliberately showed affection in front of everyone, feeding Li Xifeng meat.
Princess Zhuoga in the audience intentionally made things difficult for Li Xifeng and asked her to perform her signature dance in front of everyone. Before Li Xifeng could react, the crowd started clapping and applauding. Subsequently, Li Xifeng stood up and danced with a sword, recalling the swordsmanship her father had taught her when she was young.
Due to her father's situation, she was in a particularly bad mood. Taking advantage of the sword dance, Princess Zhuoga intentionally troubled Li Xifeng. Khan Ji Lie promptly escorted her back.
Inside the tent, Li Xifeng saw a stranger enter. Upon careful observation, she noticed a vermilion birthmark on the person's face, which reminded her that it was the secret agent arranged by the Queen to spy on Khan Ji Lie.
Soon, the secret agent in front of Li Xifeng introduced herself as Bai Han.
She quickly asserted that she was familiar with everything here and intended to make Li Xifeng obey her commands in the future. Her first order was for Li Xifeng to inform Khan Ji Lie that from now on, she would serve as her personal maid.
After Li Xifeng left, she sneaked into Khan Ji Lie's room to search for her father's letters, but unexpectedly ran into him. She quickly made up a lie to get away with it, planning to seize this opportunity to secretly investigate the task assigned by the Queen.
Afterwards, Khan Ji Lie, having listened to what Li Xifeng said, took her to the hunting grounds.
On the hunting grounds, Khan Ji Lie and the people present shared their sentiments. Li Xifeng was also influenced by the atmosphere around her and deliberately pretended to be ignorant, making Khan Ji Lie lower his guard against her.
While leaving, Bai Han reminded Li Xifeng not to forget the task assigned by the Queen.
When Li Xifeng returned, she realized that none of the women from Li Bei were wearing chest bindings. Without hesitation, she gathered everyone and taught them how to wear chest bindings.
Khan Ji Lie, bored on the side, also approached the tent to listen to their conversation. When Li Xifeng finished her busy work and became exhausted, she secretly sneaked into Khan Ji Lie's room in the middle of the night to search for clues, but once again bumped into him.
After Li Xifeng bumped into Khan Ji Lie, she panicked and quickly displayed her skills to escape. This allowed the person in front of her to recognize her as the masked black-clad person from before.
When Li Xifeng returned, she immediately swallowed the tea and pretended to remain calm when someone approached. Khan Ji Lie could easily see through her lies and was prepared to pressure Li Xifeng into revealing the truth.
As they sat down to drink tea, Khan Ji Lie deliberately revealed the key to his safe, intending to trap Li Xifeng. Both of them continued with hidden intentions, confronting each other and refusing to yield.
After three rounds of drinking, both of them became heavily intoxicated and swore brotherhood to each other. Li Xifeng took this opportunity to try to retrieve the key, but she was overpowered by Khan Ji Lie and the two ended up sleeping together.
The next morning, Bai Han came over and reminded Li Xifeng not to forget her task of probing Khan Ji Lie with leading questions.
Afterwards, Li Xifeng changed into the attire of the people from Li Bei and went to Khan Ji Lie's tent to greet the guests. After paying respects, she sat beside him, and Bai Han followed suit. Li Xifeng quickly noticed the person sitting in the seat who had once saved her.
It seems that the current Li Xifeng has developed genuine feelings for Khan Ji Lie. While sleeping, she anxiously worries that Khan Ji Lie suspects her and is unable to fall asleep.
Afterwards, she quickly recalls the night she spent with Khan Ji Lie and begins to feel shy again. Meanwhile, Khan Ji Lie is discussing plans to rescue his eldest brother with his compatriots in the tent, and he has no intention of using Li Xifeng for the rescue mission.
After the discussion, Khan Ji Lie instinctively worries about Li Xifeng and plans to secretly visit her. However, as he prepares to open the tent door, he suddenly remembers the words spoken by the person beside him and hesitates, stopping abruptly.
Li Xifeng watches him walk away and, out of spite, covers her head and falls asleep alone.
The next day, Li Xifeng looks at the fabric chosen by the other girls and starts to think about helping everyone make chest bindings. Khan Ji Lie stands by, observing the reactions of those present, but he is unsure whether he should trust her.
When Li Xifeng passes by, Khan Ji Lie takes an arrow for her to save her life.
In the tent, Mokeda prepares to give the person in front of him one last chance to kill Princess Chang Le and rescue the hostages held in Jing Kingdom.
After listening to Mo Keda's words, Khan Ji Lie's injuries began to worsen, and he collapsed unconscious on the side.
Soon, Li Xifeng couldn't bear to worry and went to personally visit the person she cared about. She also learned about the dangerous situation Khan Ji Lie was facing. Mo Keda planned to make Khan Ji Lie and Li Xifeng acquainted after six months while he himself led his soldiers to attack the Jing Kingdom. However, Khan Ji Lie was determined to protect the life of his beloved and was willing to make such a great sacrifice, which puzzled those around him.
Upon hearing these words, Li Xifeng was deeply moved. She personally took care of Khan Ji Lie with great care. When Khan Ji Lie woke up, he intentionally acted cold and indifferent, as if he had no involvement, while Li Xifeng boldly stated that she had found a way to deal with Mo Keda.
After finalizing their plans, Li Xifeng and Khan Ji Lie bid farewell and went their separate ways. After they were let go by those around them, Mo Keda called someone over and forced them to reveal the whereabouts of Khan Ji Lie and Li Xifeng, but they remained loyal and refused to speak.
It turned out that Li Xifeng had also learned that Mo Keda was extremely wary of her brother, which was why she went out with Khan Ji Lie to bring him back.
Afterwards, Li Xifeng and Khan Ji Lie continued with their plan, rallying many brothers and Li Xifeng made every effort to drink with those good brothers to help Khan Ji Lie.
In the evening, both sides were thinking about each other across the way. Li Xifeng took out the personal item Khan Ji Lie had given her and looked at it closely in her hand. On the other side, Khan Ji Lie was also thinking about her. Soon, heavy snow began to fall from the sky, and Li Xifeng and the people across the way wished each other safety and well-being.
After finishing all the tasks, Khan Ji Lie hurriedly returned and encountered Mo Keda again. As they were about to engage in a fight, Li Xifeng bravely stepped forward and successfully brought back Mo Keda's uncle.
After Mo Keda received his punishment, Khan Ji Lie approached him and solemnly promised that he would rescue his elder brother and lead the people of Li Bei to a happy and peaceful life. Upon hearing these words, Mo Keda finally felt relieved. He publicly apologized to Li Xifeng and afterwards, he went alone to accomplish meritorious deeds.
After finishing the important matters, Khan Ji Lie thanked Li Xifeng for her help and asked her if her wish in front of the lantern was sincere.
As it turns out, before this, Li Xifeng made a vow in front of the lantern, pledging to follow Khan Ji Lie closely and never part with him, even to death.
At this moment, Khan Ji Lie couldn't care less whether the words from the person in front of him were sincere. He was so excited that he embraced Li Xifeng and kissed her passionately.
The current crisis was almost resolved. Li Xifeng also intended to investigate her father's cause of death in the future. Before she could ask the question from someone nearby, Bai Han ran directly into the room and urged Li Xifeng not to forget the plan to come to Li Bei and the task entrusted by the Queen Mother.
Subsequently, Li Xifeng had the people around her prepare food and drinks to entertain Khan Ji Lie, intending to use it to accomplish her mission. Unexpectedly, Khan Ji Lie also planned to implement his own plan using this opportunity.
Both sides looked at each other, harboring their own ulterior motives. Khan Ji Lie, for the first time, proposed to take Li Xifeng back to his kingdom of Jing to meet his family. Before she could refuse, she was immediately accepted by the person in front of her.
Li Xifeng also agreed to go back, but before that, she wanted to learn the true reason for her father's death from Khan Ji Lie.
After hearing the truth, Li Xifeng finally learned that her father was framed by the King of Jing. Khan Ji Lie looked at her reaction and was curious about her relationship with Li Si Nian.
After Li Xifeng finished reading the letter, she also thanked the person in front of her for telling her the truth.
On the second day, she agreed to accompany Khan Ji Lie back to the Kingdom of Jing to visit their family. On the way, Bai Han also informed Li Xifeng about sending the message to the Queen Mother.
At the moment, they could only rely on fate to see how things would unfold. Bai Han reminded Li Xifeng to delay and try to pass on the information to the Queen as soon as possible.
Taking advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the scenery, unexpectedly, a sandstorm arrived. Khan Ji Lie immediately protected Li Xifeng behind him. When the danger passed, Bai Han suddenly understood the truth about her father's disappearance. When they returned, she sat silently by the campfire, feeling down.
On the other side, Khan Ji Lie sat next to Li Xifeng and even gave his cloak to her.
On the following day, everyone resumed their journey and would soon arrive in the Kingdom of Jing.
So, quickly, it was evening again, and Li Xifeng was resting alone in her room, holding her father's letters. However, she soon noticed some unidentified figures in black outside the room. Without haste, she walked out and asked who they were.
