They collapsed onto the bed, embracing each other as they fell asleep together. The next morning, when Li Zan woke up, he heard Song Ran and her father, Mr. Li, working together in the yard, planting. Li Zan went outside, and Mr. Li scolded him for sleeping in. Song Ran quickly explained that Li Zan hadn’t slept well the night before. Mr. Li glanced at Song Ran, making her feel a bit embarrassed.

Li Zan also hoped his father would end his single life and find someone to spend his later years with. But Mr. Li couldn’t forget his late wife and was firmly against the idea. Before leaving, Mr. Li gave Song Ran a large red envelope. Song Ran was a little embarrassed because it seemed like a lot.

Li Zan explained that it was a local custom, and the minimum amount for a red envelope was 1000 yuan, with 2000 being the more generous amount. The large sum showed how much his father liked Song Ran. Song Ran suddenly remembered that she had forgotten to contact her younger sister, Song Yang, before leaving. Song Yang had sent her many messages, but Song Ran hadn’t replied.

Li Zan suggested that Song Ran come stay with him for a while to figure out how to explain things to Song Yang. On the train, the two of them played a game together. During the game, Song Ran suddenly realized that the panda who had comforted her that day was actually Li Zan. She had never noticed that Li Zan had been silently by her side, helping her through her struggles without expecting anything in return.

Song Ran felt deeply touched. Luo Zhan’s company was organizing a team-building event, but his subordinates had arranged for a real-life CS (Counter-Strike) game, which made him a bit angry. Just then, Li Zan walked by, overheard, and expressed interest in joining. He wanted to try and relive some of the memories from the explosion incident. Song Ran was doing well in her psychological recovery and had gone to see her therapist.

During this time, she asked about Li Zan’s condition and expressed her desire to help him recover. After the doctor’s appointment, Song Ran received a call from Shen Bei. She was surprised to see it was Shen Bei calling. Shen Bei knew how much Song Ran had loved being a reporter, so when she heard that Song Ran had quit, she was a bit shocked. Song Ran calmly explained that she simply wanted to change her work environment.

That evening, Li Zan was working out, doing push-ups. The two of them chatted, and Li Zan suddenly suggested that Song Ran sit on him. The atmosphere between them was relaxed and happy. Li Zan then carried Song Ran to the room. The next day, Li Zan was preparing to attend the real-life CS competition for the team-building event. He saw that Song Ran was still fast asleep in bed, so he left her a note.

That night, after Li Zan returned, Song Ran immediately sat up in bed, eager to see him. However, she waited for a long time, but Li Zan didn’t come into the room. Song Ran decided to text him to ask what had happened, but then she heard the sound of water running from the bathroom. She thought Li Zan must have gone to the bathroom, which was why he hadn’t come in.

She lay back down to wait for him to return. When Li Zan came out of the bathroom, he still didn’t come to find her. Song Ran was surprised but didn’t say anything, assuming that Li Zan was simply tired. Li Zan returned to his room and reflected on the events of the day’s real-life CS game. The confrontation had triggered memories of the explosion, and he remembered how Jiang Lin had sacrificed himself to save Li Zan.

Li Zan felt a deep sense of guilt. Song Ran couldn’t help but come out to check on Li Zan. She found him sitting on the sofa, looking distressed. Concerned, she asked him what was wrong. Li Zan didn’t want Song Ran to worry, so he lied, claiming that he had just had a nightmare. Despite this, he pulled her into his arms.

Perhaps, in this way, Li Zan could experience a bit of warmth to ease his feelings of guilt. While drinking milk, Song Ran intentionally brought up the topic of Dongguo (Eastern Country). Hearing this, Li Zan’s heart sank, but he didn’t show it on his face.
