Li Zan went to the school to meet Jiang Yu and brought Wang Han along. The three of them went to a milk tea shop together. Seeing how well Li Zan treated Jiang Yu, Wang Han suggested that Jiang Yu acknowledge Li Zan as his sworn brother. However, Jiang Yu hesitated, and Li Zan did not insist. Feeling awkward and embarrassed, Jiang Yu drank an entire large cup of milk tea in one go, surprising Wang Han.

Before they parted ways, Li Zan gave Jiang Yu a basketball signed by a famous basketball star. Jiang Yu was delighted and expressed his gratitude. When Li Zan returned home, Song Ran warmly greeted him, and they embraced. Li Zan originally wanted to tell Song Ran something important, but upon hearing that she also had news, he chose to remain silent and listened to her first.

Song Ran told Li Zan that her proposal had been selected by the production team of "Di Cheng" and that she had been invited to join them. Li Zan was genuinely happy for her. However, Song Ran had to leave immediately and stay there for some time, meaning they would be apart. She was reluctant to leave, but Li Zan had no intention of holding her back. Instead, he encouraged her to pursue her career.

With Li Zan’s support, Song Ran felt even more determined. Li Zan accompanied Song Ran to the train station and thoughtfully prepared two bottles of water for her. Song Ran was touched, and as the moment of parting approached, both of them felt reluctant to say goodbye. Sitting on the train, Song Ran stared idly out the window. Suddenly, a large hand reached out and patted her on the head. She turned around and was shocked to see Li Zan.

Overjoyed, she learned that since it was Friday, Li Zan had called in for leave so he could accompany her to "Di Cheng". However, Song Ran did not want to see her mother and suggested that they stay at a hotel together instead. That night, Li Zan kept dreaming about the explosion in Dongguo. The next morning, he woke up startled, still unsettled, and drank a glass of water.

He noticed a note slipped under the door—it was from Song Ran. She had gone out for a shoot and didn’t want to wake him, so she left him the note instead. After reading it, Li Zan felt much calmer. Since he had left in a hurry without bringing his medication, he called his doctor to arrange to buy some in "Di Cheng". Just as he had finished purchasing the medicine, Song Ran called him.

Not wanting her to worry, Li Zan lied and said he was just out for a walk. Coincidentally, the man whom Song Ran’s mother had introduced to her overheard Li Zan’s phone conversation. However, he didn’t believe that fate would align so perfectly. Later, Song Ran took Li Zan to a gathering. Everyone recognized Li Zan as the volunteer Song Ran had once interviewed and admired their relationship. At school, a parents’ meeting was scheduled, and Jiang Yu approached Teacher Song.

Since his grandparents were elderly, he hoped that Li Zan could attend in their place. Jiang Yu sent Li Zan a message, though his wording was ambiguous, showing his anticipation for Li Zan’s response. After the meeting, Li Zan learned that Jiang Yu was planning to go to Dongguo. He had no choice but to reveal the truth—that Jiang Lin had sacrificed himself to save him.

Upon realizing that the person responsible for his brother’s death was standing before him, Jiang Yu was furious and punched Li Zan. Their previously repaired relationship shattered once again. The next morning, Luo Zhan came to Li Zan’s house with an urgent case. Seeing that Li Zan was injured, he asked about it and learned the reason behind the attack. Luo Zhan consoled Li Zan, telling him not to blame himself too much. Although Jiang Lin had died saving him, Li Zan had not done anything wrong.
