Li Zan received the news that his flight ticket had been booked. He wanted to go out to find Song Ran, but hesitated. Song Ran, on the other hand, was outside the door, wanting to find Li Zan but still couldn’t bring herself to open the door. Both of them were on opposite sides of the door, neither willing to take the first step. The next day, Li Zan woke up, and Song Ran came over.

She said she hoped they wouldn’t be apart for such long periods in the future. Li Zan reassured her that they wouldn't be apart for long again. Song Ran wanted Li Zan to cook something for lunch, saying her mother was tired of the food at the hospital. Li Zan asked Song Ran what her mother wanted to eat, but the dishes Song Ran ordered were all things she liked herself. Li Zan didn’t point this out.

Song Ran wanted to go to the hospital but her vision suddenly became blurry. She didn’t show it, instead telling Li Zan to come over early so that neither she nor her mother would go hungry. When she arrived at the hospital, she found her mother watching an animated show. Her mother said she wanted to see what was so good about these shows that Song Ran liked so much.

Song Ran’s mother noticed that Song Ran’s eyes were quite red and asked her what happened. Song Ran explained that she had already used eye drops, and the inflammation would take time to heal, assuring her mother that there was nothing to worry about. Li Zan brought food to Song Ran. Song Ran said she was willing to bear any problems on her own. Dr. He informed her that there was a special medicine for the bacteria infecting her eyes, and it had a very good effect. Upon hearing that she wouldn’t go blind, Song Ran felt relieved and happy. Shen Bei called Song Ran, asking if she wanted to come to Dongguo.

Shen Bei said she saw Li Zan’s name on the new volunteer list and thought Song Ran would be coming with him. Song Ran explained that her mother was sick, and she had to stay to accompany her for now, so she couldn’t go. She also asked Li Zan why he was going to Dongguo without telling her.

Li Zan thought about contacting Song Ran but hesitated for a long time. In the end, he didn’t send the message.
