Song Ran arrived in Dongguo and passed by the building where Li Zan had saved her before. She went up to take a look. Song Ran wanted to go to the hospital but wasn’t sure if Pei Xiaonan had any news of Li Zan. When she got to the hospital, she found that the patient who had been calm before had suddenly gone wild and even held Pei Xiaonan hostage.

Li Zan arrived and played some music for the patient, which gradually helped him calm down. Li Zan managed to take the knife away from the patient and hurriedly took Pei Xiaonan for a check-up. Song Ran noticed blood on the floor, which seemed to be from when Li Zan had used the knife earlier. Li Zan reassured the patient, saying that he would be fine, as Li Zan had been through something similar himself.

Li Zan later went to a bar, where Benjamin was drinking. Li Zan told him not to wait any longer because Pei Xiaonan wouldn’t be coming; something had happened at the hospital, and Pei Xiaonan had been injured. Benjamin could visit her tomorrow. It seemed that if Li Zan said it wasn’t serious, then Pei Xiaonan’s injury shouldn’t be too severe. Li Zan was reminded of his past experiences and accidentally crushed his glass.

His wound reopened, and he paid the bar owner for the broken glass. When Song Ran returned, she couldn’t stop thinking about the patient from earlier. She felt that Li Zan must have gone through something similar before. How much pain had he been in? She wondered how he managed to keep going, and what she had done during all of that time. Benjamin locked Song Ran in a room and went to see Sa Xin.

Benjamin noticed that Sa Xin was holding his star, realizing that this was why Sa Xin had been so cooperative this time. He felt that since Sa Xin had taken his star, he should take Sa Xin’s in return. The next day, Song Ran went out for a photo shoot at the E Lai Grand Hotel, where a press conference was being held.

A male reporter nearby, holding a knife, suggested that the current situation was chaotic, and that Song Ran might need something for self-defense. He offered to give her the knife. Song Ran declined, saying she didn’t need it. As someone on stage was speaking, the reporter remarked that if Song Ran wanted to write a good story, he could help if she paid him some money.

As Song Ran left, she found a knife in her bag, though she had no idea when the reporter had placed it there. Li Zan appeared and was surprised to see her. He took the knife from her, saying it was too dangerous and not suitable for her. Song Ran remembered the gloves she had seen in that building earlier and wondered if they belonged to Li Zan.

She also wondered if Li Zan had come to the hotel because he was following her. At the hospital, Song Ran saw that Li Zan had come as well. Someone greeted him, and Song Ran felt that he was just coincidentally there, realizing she had been reading too much into things. She went to find Pei Xiaonan, who was happy to see her. Pei Xiaonan asked if Song Ran had told Li Zan she was in Dongguo.

Song Ran said she hadn’t, which surprised Pei Xiaonan. Song Ran added that things were a bit complicated between them right now. Pei Xiaonan thought Song Ran and Li Zan were a perfect match. Pei Xiaonan mentioned that Benjamin and the others were carrying out a mission near E Lai, with their camp set up at the same place as before. Song Ran could visit them, and they would be happy to see her.

However, they were in training today, so she could visit them tomorrow. Song Ran joked that she would go because she missed them after so long. She also asked how Pei Xiaonan knew so much about their situation. Pei Xiaonan awkwardly admitted that someone had told her.
