Lan Yao is a young and beautiful game designer who, despite her youth, already owns her own studio. She is highly respected in the game design industry and is often referred to as Lan Yao the Great. Recently, she designed a game called "The Metaverse of Love. " This game requires players to place a chip on their temple, allowing them to experience the game's excitement while resting their eyes.
Xiao Ran, the president of Shanhai Corporation, is optimistic about the game. Before its official launch, he, like Lan Yao, closed his eyes to experience it. In the game, Xiao Ran plays the role of a young hero tasked with finding Xing Tian. In the storyline, Xing Tian is protecting his wife and is reluctant to engage with Xiao Ran. He feints an attack to escape with his wife.
However, when Xing Tian, holding his wife, reaches a broken bridge, a game bug causes the screen to freeze. Lan Yao's character is Xing Tian. While she is trying to figure out the issue with the game, she accidentally knocks over a water cup on the table. The water contacts the power source, causing Lan Yao to be electrocuted and fall unconscious. Her colleagues find her and quickly take her to the hospital.
When Xiao Ran discovers that the game is unplayable, he removes the chip from his temple. He believes that Lan Yao will solve the problem, so he calls her, but she does not answer. During a press interview, Xiao Ran does not hide the issue with the game and expresses his trust in Lan Yao. After seeing Xiao Ran’s responses, the company’s higher-ups ask him if he has a solution.
Since Xiao Ran is placing his hopes on Lan Yao, General Chen from Shanhai Corporation doubts her reliability and bets with Xiao Ran: if the problem isn't resolved, Xiao Ran must resign from his position as president. Although Xiao Ran knows this is not a sincere bet, he agrees. When Lan Yao wakes up in the hospital, she suddenly jumps up from the bed as if she were Xing Tian from the game.
Although she still looks like Lan Yao, she now seems to think of herself as Xing Tian. Seeing her reflection in the mirror, she is bewildered. In the hospital corridor, she anxiously searches for her "wife" and unexpectedly encounters an enemy. In Xing Tian’s eyes, this enemy is Xiao Ran. Without hesitation, she charges at him and is thrown down by Xiao Ran, at which point she reverts back to being Lan Yao.
Lan Yao had previously met Xiao Ran in the rain, where she accidentally dirtied his pants and compensated him with a hundred yuan. Xiao Ran recognizes her as the "one hundred yuan girl.
