Xiao Ran and Song Lingling set up their picnic items and were busy preparing when they suddenly heard someone sneeze. Turning around, they were surprised to see Zhang Yunfei, Liu Yiyi, and others. Xiao Ran asked them curiously why they were there, and Liu Yiyi explained that she had discovered Xiao Ran and Song Lingling on a date and wanted to take some photos of them. Nangong Yu and Xiao Ai were there because their coach was having them exercise.
Xiao Ai was an employee of Shan Hai Group. Though Xiao Ran felt a bit disheartened, he didn't say much and asked Zhang Yunfei and Nangong Yu to help with grilling. During the grilling, the three of them chatted idly. Xiao Ran asked about Nangong Yu and Xiao Ai’s relationship progress, but Nangong Yu vehemently denied any romance. Their grilling skills were so poor that the resulting blackened food put everyone off their appetites.
Fortunately, Xiao Ran had prepared instant noodles, so they didn’t go hungry. Lin Jiao was working overtime at the company. Since it was the Qixi Festival, Shen Xiangyu insisted on staying by his side, offering to be his secretary for free. Lin Jiao had no choice but to agree. Shen Xiangyu stayed until noon, and after she left, Xiao Ran looked at the notebook she had left behind.
Shen Xiangyu had not only detailed the tasks Lin Jiao needed to handle but had also drawn a work-related illustration for him. Xiao Ran received a call from his brother, who informed him that Chen and Li had been arrested by the police. One of the kidnappers they hired was the nephew of Driver Wu. When Xiao Ran got home, he happened to see Driver Wu coming out of his house.
Wu apologized to Xiao Ran, and upon learning that Wu had been fired from the human resources department, Xiao Ran angrily asked Pang Ding why he hadn’t consulted him. Shan Hai Group held a board meeting, and Song Lingling was invited to speak. She addressed various issues encountered in the game and presented solutions. After her speech, she coughed up blood, and amidst Pang Ding’s alarm, Xiao Ran took over the meeting and rushed Song Lingling out of the room.
Zhang Yunfei, who had just finished three surgeries and was looking forward to a break, received an unexpected call from Xiao Ran, who asked him to take an emergency case. When Song Lingling arrived, Zhang Yunfei found that she only had tonsillitis and couldn't help but complain that Xiao Ran had overreacted, causing even the hospital director to be alarmed. Zhang Yunfei offered two treatment options: a gradual recovery or an immediate tonsillectomy.
To return to work quickly, Song Lingling chose the latter. Xiao Ran didn’t expect Song Lingling to be afraid of pain. After the surgery, when Song Lingling returned to her hospital room, Xiao Ran gave her a kiss as a pain reliever. Lin Jiao walked into the hospital room with a bouquet of flowers and happened to witness this scene. Seeing that they hadn’t noticed him, he quietly left and asked Zhang Yunfei about Song Lingling’s condition.
After learning that she was not seriously injured, he asked Zhang Yunfei to give the flowers to Song Lingling and then left. Pang Ding overheard several employees discussing how General Manager Lin also liked Song Lingling, so he went over and told them not to spread such rumors.
