Xiao Ran felt that Song Lingling’s behavior towards him was inconsistent, which led him to believe there might be a mental health issue. He called Dr. Xue from the mental health hospital and arranged for her to undergo an examination. However, the test results showed that Song Lingling’s physical indicators were all normal. Dr. Xue suspected that Song Lingling’s condition might still be related to the game, so she asked Xiao Ran to bring the game for further investigation.
On the way back from the hospital, Song Lingling noticed Xiao Ran’s unusual expression and asked him if he could run fast. Before she could figure out what was happening, someone suddenly sat up in the back seat of the car and strangled Xiao Ran. The car swerved on the road in several "S" patterns, and Xiao Ran, worried about an accident, had no choice but to brake. After the car stopped, two more masked attackers arrived.
While they were distracted, Xiao Ran quietly placed his phone under the seat. Chen Zong asked Li Zong if the people he had hired were reliable. Li Zong assured him that they were professionals who specialized in such tasks. They planned that once Xiao Ran signed the equity transfer agreement, not only would they have answered to Elder Shen, but they would also have control over the Shanhai Group.
They thought Xiao Ran was still too inexperienced to deal with them. Lin Jiao discovered the problem when he realized that Li Zong and Chen Zong were up to their tricks again, secretly transferring some of the company’s funds. He suspected that they might have further plans and was worried about Xiao Ran’s safety, so he called to warn him. When Xiao Ran did not answer, Lin Jiao called Xiao Ran’s home.
Uncle Xiang and Pang Ding were unaware of Xiao Ran’s whereabouts, but Pang Ding was able to track Xiao Ran’s phone. Using the phone’s location, Pang Ding found Xiao Ran’s car in the outskirts. Lin Jiao instructed them to search nearby buildings where someone could be hiding.
To prevent Li Zong and Chen Zong from taking further action, Lin Jiao returned to the company and instructed the legal advisor to delay any requests from Li Zong and Chen Zong no matter what. Xiao Ran and Song Lingling were bound in an abandoned factory, where the masked men demanded that Xiao Ran sign the equity transfer agreement. When Xiao Ran refused to sign, they tortured him mentally by banging pots and pans to prevent them from sleeping.
They warned him that this was only their Plan A. If Xiao Ran continued to be uncooperative, they would implement Plan B and turn him into a vegetable. To avoid Plan B, Xiao Ran agreed to sign the document. However, he deliberately made alterations when signing, including changing his signature and intentionally injuring his finger to alter his fingerprint.
Following Lin Jiao’s instructions, the legal advisor scrutinized the documents provided by Li Zong and Chen Zong very carefully to buy time. They eventually discovered inconsistencies in the signature and fingerprint and used this as a reason to reject Li Zong and Chen Zong’s request for the equity transfer. Enraged, Li Zong and Chen Zong called the kidnappers, instructing them to proceed with Plan B.
