In 1997, Wei Zhengrong asked Bai Xiaofu about the evidence of the Moran case, but there was too little biological evidence to have any testing value. Bai Xiaofu's ex-husband had some hostility towards Wei Zhengrong. Lu Xingzhi believed that the killer and Moran both liked reading detective novels. They tried to find the person who borrowed books frequently. In 2010, Wei and Lu found out that the evidence in the Moran case was gone.
