Sang Jiu suffered severe burns all over her body after soaking in the Refining Spring, which had been mixed with Ruo River water. The pain was intense, but she worried that applying medicine might cause her demonic energy to resurface. She endured the pain, telling herself she couldn't allow Ming Ye to worry about her or hold him back.

She also pondered whether Ming Ye would ever acknowledge her true feelings, recalling a story about a king who sacrificed his flesh to save a dove, demonstrating ultimate sincerity through suffering. Despite her deep longing, Sang Jiu avoided disturbing Ming Ye, who was away fighting battles. She would pray for his safety, expressing her long-held feelings for him and wishing he would see her sincerity. Unbeknownst to Sang Jiu, Ming Ye also yearned for her.

He noticed her absence and, initially concerned by Tian Huan's earlier words about Sang Jiu's supposed affection for someone else, decided to seek her out. However, he found a note from Sang Jiu saying she had returned to the Mohe River for a few days and not to worry. He wondered if she was avoiding him.

Even during his frequent campaigns, Ming Ye often thought of Sang Jiu, wondering if she had returned, and resolved to find her once his duties were complete, even if she was indeed avoiding him. Ming Ye discovered a large gathering of demon groups moving towards the Demon Realm, signaling the Devil God's sinister intentions.

He convened a meeting with the gods, revealing that during his infiltration of the Barren Abyss, he observed the Devil God practicing a powerful formation called the All-in-Distress Way. This formation, if completed, would consume all clear energy in the world, leading to the death of all living beings and the proliferation of demons, effectively turning the world into purgatory. Ming Ye explained that the Devil God extracts his evil bones to channel negative energy during the formation's practice.

Since the Devil God cannot truly die as long as the evil bones exist, this moment, when the bones are externalized, presented the only opportunity to attack him. Their plan was to force the Devil God away from the formation's core, stopping its activation. Ji Ze, the God of Time, offered to freeze time and use a Time Freezing spell to separate the demon soldiers, allowing Ming Ye to confront the Devil God alone.

Chu Huang, the God of Space, volunteered to use her powers to seize the evil bones while the Devil God was distracted and seal them in the Heavenly Pillar, a place where spiritual energy converges and could contain them. To contain the Devil God, the Jiuyao Tiangang Formation, a heaven-granted array designed to imprison powerful demons, would be activated.

However, once initiated, this formation would trap both gods and demons, with only Chu Huang, the master of space, able to escape. Ming Ye acknowledged the grave danger, explaining that the Devil God, born from the world's suffering, grief, and hatred, was immortal as long as these negative emotions persisted. He committed to holding the Devil God within the formation in his true form, fighting to the death, and not expecting the other gods to rescue him.

The other gods, moved by Ming Ye's resolve, agreed to risk their lives. One god declared they would spare no divine power, offering to ignite their essence and call down a "Celestial Punishment" during the alignment of the Nine Stars, a devastating force that would annihilate everything, including the Devil God. They acknowledged that this would be a one-time, all-or-nothing strike.

Ming Ye, accepting his potential demise, bid farewell to the gods, entrusting the fate of the Three Realms to them, and expressed hope that they might meet again someday. Ji Ze, reflecting on his long life in the Shangqing Realm, found solace in a life well-lived and felt honored to fight alongside them, accepting that this battle might mark a new beginning, even if it meant the end of the gods.

Convinced by Tian Huan's words that Sang Jiu had found another person to cultivate with, and believing his own mission to fight the Devil God would lead to his death and the destruction of his soul, Ming Ye decided to sever ties with Sang Jiu. He sent her a divorce paper, hoping she could live happily ever after with her beloved once the war was over, rather than remaining alone in Yuqing Palace.

Sang Jiu was devastated upon receiving the divorce paper. She rushed to confront Ming Ye, demanding to know face-to-face why he was ending their marriage with a mere piece of paper. Ming Ye, knowing the danger he faced and wanting to push her away for her own safety, refused to see her. Instead, he gave her 24 hours to pack her belongings and leave Yuqing Palace and the Shangqing Realm.

He coldly declared that their marriage was coerced by her father, the Lord of Mohe River, and that he had never harbored any affection for her. He further claimed to be weary of her constant pestering, accusing her of disrupting his duties by seeking his help with sword practice and clearing her negative energy. Sang Jiu, heartbroken, argued that she had been trying her best to avoid bothering him, but it seemed to make no difference.

She tearfully recounted her father's story of the king and the dove, a tale of ultimate sincerity, lamenting that despite her own unwavering devotion, Ming Ye remained unmoved. Overwhelmed by his apparent disdain, Sang Jiu agreed to leave before dawn. Before departing, she made one last desperate plea, asking if he had ever, even for a fleeting moment, harbored any feelings for her.

Ming Ye, maintaining his facade of indifference, cruelly replied that he never had any feelings for her and urged her to forget him and find happiness. Despite Ming Ye's harsh words, Sang Jiu returned to him, dressed in her wedding gown, to say her final goodbyes. Finding him drunk, she seized the opportunity. She noted that his drinking suited her intentions. She then told him that before she left, there was one thing he owed her: their wedding night.

She administered a toxic orb she had personally crafted, explaining it would only temporarily weaken him and render him speechless, but would not be lethal. After the night, she declared that they were finally even, and hoped their paths would never cross again. Later, Ming Ye silently expressed his regret, acknowledging that he had let Sang Jiu down and that their farewell was not as it should have been.

On the day of the decisive battle, Ming Ye rallied the gods, declaring that this was the moment for which they had sacrificed and prepared. The Devil's Army had gathered near the Devil Palace, where the Devil God intended to unleash the All-in-Distress Way, a formation designed to annihilate all life and plunge the three realms into darkness. Ming Ye vowed that the moment the Devil God activated this formation would be his end.

To begin the All-in-Distress Way, the Devil God instructed Si Ying, Jing Mie, and Di Mian to offer their demonic energy to help him complete the formation. He then extracted his evil bones to channel the negative energy of heaven and earth. As the Devil God prepared his ultimate weapon of mass destruction, Ming Ye launched his assault on the Barren Abyss, engaging the three demon lords and countless demon soldiers single-handedly.

Ji Ze, true to their plan, provided covert assistance by using his Time Freezing spell to isolate the demon soldiers, leaving Ming Ye free to confront the Devil God. Ming Ye confronted the Devil God, condemning his creation of such a blasphemous formation that would destroy all realms. The Devil God, however, revealed his true nihilistic intent: to erase all sin by annihilating everything, including himself, returning to nothingness, a goal far grander than his followers' belief in conquest.

As Ming Ye pushed with all his might to force the Devil God from the formation's core, the combined power of the gods outside activated the Jiuyao Tiangang Formation, trapping the Devil God within. Amidst the chaos, Chu Huang, the God of Space, seized the opportunity to take the evil bones and depart from the Barren Abyss, moving them towards their intended seal.

Ming Ye, now trapped with the Devil God inside the formation, declared that though the Devil God's power was only slightly weakened by the removal of the evil bones, their shared imprisonment meant his ultimate defeat was now only a matter of time. Although the Jiuyao Tiangang Formation successfully trapped the Devil God, Di Mian, who was inside the formation, produced a phoenix feather he had once received from Chu Huang.

This feather, imbued with Chu Huang's divine power, allowed Di Mian to assist the Devil God in escaping the barrier. To counter this, Ji Ze made a selfless decision: he chose to burn his divine essence to momentarily stabilize time, allowing Ming Ye to be sent out of the formation to pursue the Devil God. Di Mian, using the phoenix feather's power, appeared before Chu Huang, who was en route to seal the evil bones.

Chu Huang, facing her former lover, was deeply disappointed. Di Mian brazenly demanded the evil bones, revealing his true ambition: to become the new Devil God and, as the future King of all three realms, finally deem himself worthy of Chu Huang, the Phoenix Goddess. Chu Huang scoffed at his pathetic excuse, telling him to stop using her as a justification for his despicable schemes, which she found repulsive.

At this critical moment, the Devil God arrived, having escaped the formation with Di Mian's help. Chu Huang, unable to match the Devil God's power, found herself in peril until Ming Ye arrived, ready to continue the fight and ensure the evil bones were sealed.
