Ye Xiwu asked Ye Bingshang how she could prove her loyalty to Jing Kingdom was sincere. Ye Bingshang immediately swore to the heavens that she would be loyal to Tantai Jin in this life and the next. Ye Qingyu, who was standing beside them, looked upset to see her older sister so hastily changing her affections. Pian Ran pressed Ye Bingshang on why she had two emotional attachments. Ye Bingshang initially pretended to have no knowledge of it, but Tantai Jin reminded her that the Moon Shadow Guards had recently developed a poison that, once ingested, would compel the victim to reveal everything.

Ye Bingshang was forced to reveal the truth. When she was 16 years old, she went to the temple to pray and met a severely wounded guard on the way. The guard begged Ye Bingshang to help him deliver something to his closest friend and asked her to bring a message - he would soon leave this world and wanted Pian Ran to live a good life. The wounded guard was Jiang Rao, and when Ye Bingshang arrived at Lan Hua Alley, she saw the charming and enchanting Pian Ran, and couldn't help but claim the affection for herself.

Upon hearing this, Tantai Jin was disgusted by Ye Bingshang's behavior, and immediately took out the emotional threads that belonged to Pian Ran which Ye Bingshang had taken, and returned them to her. Ye Bingshang's former lover was Jiang Rao, and upon hearing that he was going to the front line to fight, she pulled out her emotional threads and gave them to him in order to protect him. In the end, Jiang Rao disappeared without a trace, and Pian Ran searched for him on the battlefield many times, but never found him. Today, she heard that Jiang Rao went to the place where they had met before, and entrusted someone to return the emotional threads. Pian Ran was very sad and regretted not being by his side in his final moments.

That night, Pian Ran drank a lot of alcohol, feeling bitter and making a scene. Her emotions were on the verge of collapse. Ye Qingyu was by her side all the time. Seeing her in pain and sorrow, he wanted to hug Pian Ran several times, but he was afraid of being pushed away by her.

Upon hearing Ye Bingshang's words, Xiao Lin had no more obstacles left. Tantai Jin ordered someone to strip Ye Bingshang of her title and make her a lifetime slave in the imperial palace, and also imprisoned Xiao Lin in the dungeon.

On this night, Tantai Jin, with his veil on, quietly sneaked into the dungeon to meet Xiao Lin. She asked Xiao Lin about his plans for the future, and he said that the main mission of the remaining troops was to rescue the captives held in Jing Kingdom. In order to end the war and to reassure the soldiers of Sheng Kingdom, he was prepared to sacrifice himself for the country. Ye Xiwu urged him not to do so and asked Xiao Lin to wait patiently for six days. After six days, she would find a way to help him escape.

Xiao Lin stopped Ye Xiwu and looked into her eyes, saying that maybe the person in front of him was not his sister. He had grown up with his sister since childhood and knew her well enough to know that she would not have such a strong sense of justice. Xiao Lin advised her not to take risks and assured her that he would not reveal this secret.

Tantai Jin planted his spy, and Nian Baiyu revealed everything he saw and heard in the prison. Unfortunately, he was far away and couldn't hear exactly what Xiao Lin and Ye Xiwu had said.

Pian Ran was surprised to hear that Ye Qingyu was taking a leave of absence. She followed him secretly and discovered that he went to Jiang Rao's grave. Ye Qingyu comforted Jiang Rao's spirit and expressed his envy of how Jiang Rao had won Pian Ran's favor. He wished that he could be like him. However, he still wanted to live well, so that he could spend more time with Pian Ran. Pian Ran listened to him nearby, feeling sad in her heart. She knew that Ye Qingyu had always liked her and had found Jiang Rao's grave for her. With tears in her eyes, Pian Ran came to Jiang Rao's grave and said that she had found a lifelong companion and that this was the life she wanted.

The time for Liutian's departure was approaching quickly. Ye Xiwu and Xiao Lin had agreed to find a way to release him in six days, and Ye Xiwu had come up with a plan to go home and make sweet porridge. That day happened to be the day when Ye Bingshang returned home to offer sacrifices to her deceased mother. Upon seeing that Ye Xiwu had made sweet porridge for Tantai Jin, she secretly poisoned the porridge that Ye Xiwu had cooked. Then she scooped out a bowl and gave it to her own grandmother, claiming that it was Ye Xiwu's sweet porridge, deliberately showing filial piety to her.

Tantai Jin was reviewing the memorial while a bowl of sweet porridge was placed there. A moth got stuck in the porridge and died instantly. Tantai Jin realized that the porridge was poisoned and was surprised. He didn't know what was on Ye Xiwu's mind.
