Till the End of the Moon Episode 33 Recap
> Till the End of the Moon Recap
Cang Jiumin recognized that the threat of the Devil God would always be an obstacle between himself and Li Susu, regardless of whether she was Ye Xiwu or Li Susu. He concluded that they could only truly start anew if he found a way to prevent the Devil God from returning to the world. He believed that if he could break free from the Devil God's control, he might hold the key to stopping the Devil God's resurrection.
With this resolve, Cang Jiumin journeyed to the Barren Abyss, noting its eerie resemblance to what he had seen in Bo're Life. He realized the fastest way to learn about the Devil God was to confront Si Ying and Jing Mie directly. Using his Xiaoyao Sword-play to track the potent devil energy, he adopted the guise of the Devil God to interrogate them about the resurrection process and the role of the devil fetus and evil bones.
However, his deception was quickly uncovered. Si Ying and Jing Mie, fiercely loyal only to the true Devil God, informed Cang Jiumin that he was merely a mortal vessel, a devil fetus chosen for the Devil God's return, and not their lord. They confidently stated that the evil bone was indestructible and would inevitably force him to sacrifice himself. Unyielding, Cang Jiumin declared, "I'm not him. Not now and not in the future."
They responded that the true Devil God would return regardless of his will once the three devil artifacts were gathered and the All-in-Distress Way was activated. Dismissing his defiance, they allowed him to depart, confident that a wolf could not hide among sheep forever. Upon his return from the Barren Abyss, Cang Jiumin sought out Li Susu, only to find Di Mian already there, visiting his daughter. Unaware of their relationship, Cang Jiumin suspected Di Mian intended harm.
Di Mian, recognizing Cang Jiumin as the devil fetus, was taken aback by his knowledge of events from 10,000 years ago, including Di Mian's own past allegiance to the Devil God and his role in the death of Chu Huang. Attempting to test Cang Jiumin's abilities, Di Mian observed that he employed immortal sect techniques and seemed less powerful than expected for a devil fetus.
Li Susu quickly intervened, clarifying Cang Jiumin's identity as a Xiaoyao Sect disciple and imploring her father to trust her. Though still wary, Di Mian agreed not to harm Cang Jiumin as long as he posed no threat to Susu, promising to keep his secret. After Di Mian's departure, Li Susu explained her complex relationship with her father, expressing her belief that he was a repentant individual seeking to atone for past mistakes.
Cang Jiumin, in turn, confessed that the person he had known was Ye Xiwu, and he had always been Tantai Jin, resolute in not becoming the person others feared. He further revealed that the Bone-refining Seal was not his first encounter with a devil artifact. During his 500-year search for Ye Xiwu in the Nether River, he had accidentally merged with the God-slaughtering Crossbow. This power had then expelled him from the river, leading to his rescue by Immortal Zhaoyou.
Li Susu accepted his story and showed concern for the burns he suffered in the Nether River. Cang Jiumin longed for a fresh start with her, but Li Susu maintained that their current relationship as fellow disciples was perfectly acceptable. Despite her refusal, Cang Jiumin remained determined to prove he would never become the Devil God and would not relinquish the feelings he had nurtured for 500 years.
He asserted that just as Li Susu had entered his life 500 years ago, he would now cling to her. Meanwhile, Mo Nv, still haunted by her memories from 500 years ago, harbored a deep animosity towards Tantai Jin. She concocted a plan to expose Cang Jiumin's identity as the devil fetus to the immortal sects, knowing this would lead to his ostracization.
Learning that Nian Baiyu was also in the devil realm, she arranged for him to be sent to Cang Jiumin. Cang Jiumin found Nian Baiyu at the Hengyang Sect. Although Nian Baiyu had succumbed to the devil way, Cang Jiumin, remembering his inherent good nature, pleaded on his behalf to Chief Qu and Immortal Zhaoyou. Chief Qu, touched by Cang Jiumin's intercession, allowed Nian Baiyu to remain.
Cang Jiumin told Nian Baiyu to abandon the deference of a subject to a king, stating that Nian Baiyu was free to choose his own path, whether to stay at Hengyang Sect or return to the Yiyue tribe. Nian Baiyu chose to stay. Yue Ya, tasked with settling Nian Baiyu, expressed her surprise at his transformation into a devil cultivator, having known him as a Purple-of-Ursa Isles disciple.
Elsewhere, Gongye Jiwu was undertaking a period of demon slaying in the mortal realm. Following a trail of demonic energy, he stumbled upon a newly opened silk workshop. Mo Nv, the owner, was astonished to encounter an immortal sect disciple bearing a striking resemblance to Xiao Lin. Gongye Jiwu's Devil-detecting Lantern showed no demonic presence within the workshop.
Learning of his intention to travel to the capital of Jing Kingdom to hunt a demon, Mo Nv, aware of the lurking evil in the capital, opportunistically offered him a ride in her carriage, claiming it was for her own safety as she needed to buy silk there.
Back at Hengyang Sect, Nian Baiyu couldn't find Cang Jiumin and learned from Yue Ya that Li Susu had gone to Jing Kingdom to clear her mind, and Cang Jiumin had likely followed her. Meanwhile, Si Ying received word from Nian Baiyu about the devil fetus's location and began formulating a plan to exploit Cang Jiumin's affections for Li Susu to force his hand.
When Li Susu arrived in Jing Kingdom, she was struck by the eerie silence of the usually bustling streets. A local shopkeeper explained that a demon had been terrorizing the city for weeks, targeting lone travelers and forcing residents indoors. He urged Li Susu to leave for her own safety. Cang Jiumin soon appeared, continuing his playful pursuit of Li Susu, their banter mirroring their past dynamic. Li Susu wryly commented that his presence seemed to attract trouble.
Li Susu and Cang Jiumin checked into an inn, ready to confront the demon. The shopkeeper reiterated his warnings, but Cang Jiumin paid for two separate rooms, making sure they were far apart. The following morning, they were surprised to encounter Gongye Jiwu, who was also in Jing Kingdom on a demon-slaying mission. Sharing information, the three deduced the demon was a Ye Mei, known for its ability to shapeshift, read minds, and evade detection by immortal artifacts at night.
Cang Jiumin suggested contacting Nian Baiyu via spiritual message to locate a special tracking artifact in the Scripture Hall. Their plan involved scattering spell water and Lingting Country red silk to restrict the Ye Mei's movements and trace it. As night fell, they split up. Cang Jiumin easily saw through a Ye Mei disguised as Li Susu.
However, Gongye Jiwu, confronted by a Ye Mei taking the form of a woman, became ensnared in its illusion, almost succumbing to its brain-sucking attack. Mo Nv, however, appeared and saved him. Unable to find Li Susu, Cang Jiumin used an immortal sect technique to locate her, but was instead drawn into a confrontation with the Devil God.
The Devil God taunted him, asserting that a devil fetus could never truly shed his nature, showing him a vision of himself as the terrifying Devil God, claiming it was his inevitable future. Cang Jiumin vehemently denied this, declaring himself Cang Jiumin, a disciple of the immortal sect.
The Devil God then showed him an illusion of Li Susu, implying that his transformation into an immortal was merely for her, and questioned if tricking his affections could save the Three Realms. Realizing he was trapped in an illusion, Cang Jiumin broke free, which in turn awoke Li Susu from her own nightmare. The Ye Mei, reporting its failure to Si Ying, admitted underestimating Cang Jiumin and failing to control Gongye Jiwu.
Si Ying ordered the Ye Mei to re-enter Li Susu's dream to uncover Cang Jiumin's true weakness. During Jing Kingdom's annual Water Festival, Cang Jiumin asked Li Susu if he was the person she feared most in her heart. She denied it, steadfastly believing he would never harm her and would never become the Devil God.
She reminded him that he was Tantai Jin, now Cang Jiumin, the most kind-hearted disciple of the Xiaoyao Sect, and expressed her unwavering faith that he was not and would not become the evil entity. Cang Jiumin then revealed he had realized the figure Ye Xiwu had shown him on the city wall was indeed the Devil God.
He confessed his fear that his immortal sect peers would one day discover his true identity as the devil fetus, an entity everyone in the immortal world sought to destroy. He had learned this fear from listening to their discussions and judgments about the Devil God.
