Wu Ming invited Jia Fan for coffee and asked him who treated him the best in the entire Moyi Road. Jia Fan found the question strange and listed several names, but in the end, Wu Ming pointed out that Han Yijing was the one who cared for him the most—he had never seen her be so attentive to anyone else. Liao Jinyuan approached Han Yijing, wanting to talk. Han Yijing told him she already had a boyfriend.

Liao Jinyuan guessed it was Jia Fan, and Han Yijing did not deny it. Wu Ming informed Jia Fan that Qixiang Magazine had confirmed a dual cover featuring him and Han Yijing. Liao Jinyuan knew Han Yijing well—she would reject anything related to him. Han Yijing saw through his intentions: by making it a dual cover, if she refused, Jia Fan would also lose the opportunity, which might even strain their relationship.

Liao Jinyuan admitted that was exactly what he intended. Meanwhile, Jia Fan also turned it down, telling Wu Ming that Han Yijing had already helped him so much, and he didn’t want to take advantage of her this time. Han Yijing said she accepted Liao Jinyuan’s apology, but she would never forgive him. As for the cover, she agreed and would convince President Ling. Back when Han Yijing was still unknown, Liao Jinyuan had been her photographer.

While adjusting her hairstyle between shots, he casually brushed her hair aside, and that small gesture sparked mutual feelings between them. Liao Jinyuan deliberately got closer to Han Yijing, treating her with exceptional care, and Han Yijing found herself falling for him. One night, Liao Jinyuan received a voice message from President Ling. It was a recording from a year ago, when he had drunkenly bragged to colleagues that photographing Han Yijing had led to her becoming his girlfriend.

He also claimed it was common for photographers to climb the ranks by leveraging models and even advised his colleagues to think long-term and broaden their vision. Just as the recording ended, President Ling arrived. She used the recording to threaten Liao Jinyuan, demanding that he leave Han Yijing. If the recording were exposed, both of them would be ruined. With Han Yijing’s career on the rise, she couldn’t stand by and watch her fall into disaster.

With reddened eyes, Liao Jinyuan insisted his feelings were real, but President Ling didn’t believe him at all. Moyi Road rejected the dual cover proposal, but Liao Jinyuan told them to wait a little longer. Meanwhile, Li Haoran was working at Xing Mo’s bar, where he mixed a drink for Ding Chen, leaving Ding Chen completely amazed.

You Ning sincerely liked Liao Jinyuan, and Xing Mo encouraged her to keep loving him and to become a better version of herself for his sake. You Ning asked if he was truly supporting her, but Xing Mo quickly corrected himself, saying it wasn’t entirely that. President Ling asked Xing Mo about the relationship between Han Yijing and Jia Fan. Xing Mo replied that they had a mentor-student dynamic and that Jia Fan’s refusal was due to his pride.

Xing Mo also pleaded on You Ning’s behalf, hoping President Ling would give her another chance. President Ling agreed. Late at night, Shu Bo found Jia Fan still training in the practice room. He commented that Jia Fan had truly risen to success. Jia Fan went to Han Yijing’s house to find her, only to run into Liao Jinyuan, who had come to check on Leica, the cat he and Han Yijing had raised together.

Jia Fan and Liao Jinyuan got into an argument and soon broke into a fight, only to be stopped by security. While Liao Jinyuan explained the situation to the security guards, Jia Fan called Han Yijing. After saying goodnight to each other, he hung up. Later, Liao Jinyuan and Jia Fan sat at the same table drinking, but they couldn’t stand each other and drank in silence.

Out of stubbornness, they kept drinking one cup after another until they were completely wasted. Liao Jinyuan drunkenly said that Han Yijing was just a “paper tiger”—she looked fierce, but deep down, she was naive. A little kindness would make her wholeheartedly give back in return. With a bitter smile, Liao Jinyuan added that being with Han Yijing required not just sincerity, but also intelligence. Otherwise, it would be impossible to compete with the people around her—especially Han Jialing.

He continued, saying that President Ling would never allow them to be together. And if she ever turned against them, she would cut ties without hesitation. Jia Fan firmly stated that he would never leave without a word, abandoning Han Yijing alone. Liao Jinyuan drank himself into a blackout. Jia Fan, discovering that he had been investigating him, casually dumped him onto a park bench.

The next day, Liao Jinyuan learned that the sponsor wanted to increase their funding—but only if Han Yijing was part of the cover, which meant Jia Fan had to be included as well. Frustrated, Liao Jinyuan shouted that Jia Fan was originally the one being chosen, but now their magazine had become the backup option instead. Han Yijing told President Ling that she agreed to be on the cover, but since it was a dual feature, Jia Fan had to be included too.
