Wanna Be Episode 6 Recap
> Wanna Be Recap
You Ning was furious about the spokesperson change. She suddenly recalled her conversation with the brand about the spokesperson’s style. She suited a light luxury image, but Rachel’s new product line sought a healthy, sunny, and positive representative. You Ning insisted she could adapt her style and even subtly hinted that her endorsement fee should be doubled. This left the brand hesitant, unable to clearly state their decision to replace her.
Upon learning that Han Yijing had been chosen as the new spokesperson, You Ning was enraged. She went to Xing Mo’s bar to drink, shouting that she would make President Ling and Han Yijing pay the price. Xing Mo advised her to calm down, pointing out that an international brand like Rachel wouldn’t have let Han Yijing influence their decision. He urged her to move on. You Ning suspected that Xing Mo had feelings for Han Yijing.
Xing Mo didn’t deny it—he simply smiled and told her, “This stays between us. ” After reassuring You Ning, Xing Mo sent a message to President Ling, assuring her that everything was under control. Meanwhile, Han Yijing was debating how to message Jia Fan when Xing Mo’s call interrupted her. At the seafood shop, Dong Xiaoru was giving Jia Fan an intensive lesson on fashion terminology. Jia Fan had done his homework well and responded fluently.
The selection list was about to be announced, but the website encountered an issue, causing a delay. Han Yijing personally checked the list. Jia Fan received the message—he had been selected! Overjoyed, he and Dong Xiaoru jumped up and down in excitement. Jia Fan’s father, upon hearing the news, had mixed emotions. He visited Dr. Lin at the hospital and learned that Jia Fan had also been diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa.
He urged Jia Fan to quit his job, stop using knives, and avoid riding motorcycles to prevent injuries. However, Jia Fan refused—he wanted to live on his own terms. This disease was hereditary and difficult to cure, even with surgery. Jia Fan’s father confessed that he had once been a burden to Jia Fan’s mother. Hearing this, Jia Fan exploded in anger. He couldn’t stand seeing his father blame himself.
He stormed out, but as he ran, he suddenly fell heavily to the ground. Jia Fan failed to report in, and no one could reach him. It turned out he had been hospitalized after his fall. Dr. Lin advised him to be extra cautious at night and suggested he rest for a while before making any decisions. Meanwhile, Han Yijing secretly went to the hospital under the pretense of a facial treatment to have fluid drained from her knee.
The doctor warned her to wear high heels less often. When Jia Fan finally turned on his phone, he saw countless missed calls and messages. Unsure of how to respond, he hesitated—until Han Yijing called. But once again, he didn’t pick up. Following the ringtone, Han Yijing tracked Jia Fan down. Jia Fan admitted that he had entered the competition out of spite—he just wanted to prove himself.
He knew that modeling was a short-lived and unstable career, one that required endurance. But now, he felt like he couldn’t endure anymore. With the opportunity right in front of him, Han Yijing scolded Jia Fan for being a coward—he already had one foot in the door. At a bus stop, Jia Fan stared at an advertisement featuring Han Yijing, his emotions in turmoil. With only two days left before training camp, Dong Xiaoru was panicking.
She rushed to Jia Fan’s house and blocked him at the door. Jia Fan said he was better suited to being a “lazy fish” and had even quit working at the seafood shop. Tears streaming down her face, Dong Xiaoru declared that if he didn’t attend the rookie training, their friendship was over—they would never speak again. Jia Fan looked at the headshots he had taken for his portfolio and reflected on everything he had experienced since entering the competition. The truth was, no one was more heartbroken about this than he was.
