Dong Xiaoru felt much better after learning from her mother that Jia Fan hadn’t quit his job but had only taken leave. It was Jia Fan’s father who had requested the leave on his behalf. During breakfast, his father told him that his mother’s dream when she was young was to become a model, but she had to give it up because of him.

Now that Jia Fan wanted to be a model, there was no reason not to support him—otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to face Jia Fan’s mother. The training camp began, but Jia Fan didn’t show up, causing Han Yijing’s mood to plummet. You Ning was also keeping an eye on Jia Fan. Xing Mo reminded You Ning to properly apologize to Han Yijing; otherwise, since she was always badmouthing Han Yijing, President Ling wouldn’t just let it slide.

The course started, and Han Yijing, as the fashion instructor, was teaching the new trainees. Just as she was about to demonstrate styling, Jia Fan pushed open the door and walked in. He apologized to everyone and explained that he wasn’t actually late—President Ling could vouch for him. Shu Bo was delighted that Jia Fan had come and quickly smoothed things over so the class could continue.

He suggested that Jia Fan be used as a model for Han Yijing’s demonstration. Han Yijing remarked that Jia Fan was hopeless and told him to hurry back to his seat. Instead, Jia Fan did the opposite—he offered to style Han Yijing. He chose a headband for her and picked out a pair of flats. Instantly, Han Yijing’s aura changed into that of the sweet girl next door.

The trainees all praised the new look, and even Han Yijing was quite pleased. President Ling was well aware of everything regarding Jia Fan. She appreciated his potential, but more importantly, she was using him to counter Xing Mo. After class, Han Yijing chased after Jia Fan to ask why he had shown up, but he dodged the question with a few vague words. He told Han Yijing that he would learn from her resilience and refusal to compromise.

Sincerely, he thanked her. Han Yijing had deliberately made things difficult for Jia Fan during class—because some trainees had issues with him, she intentionally acted angry and strict. This way, it would be easier for him to reintegrate into the group. Xing Mo met with President Ling over coffee. He remarked that this talent show had far exceeded expectations, so they could finally relax a little.

However, he himself had to remain on high alert to keep an eye on You Ning. President Ling told him that besides watching You Ning, he should also pay attention to Jia Fan. Jia Fan had both a story and potential—he was worth cultivating. Xing Mo understood what President Ling meant. Jia Fan reminded him of himself when he first started.

President Ling stated that since they had successfully made him into the ace of Model Road, Jia Fan could be shaped into one too. You Ning vented to Xing Mo about Jia Fan. She had a bold theory—maybe sparks would fly between Han Yijing and Jia Fan. After all, when men and women first meet, the fiercer they argue, the stronger the underlying tension. Sometimes, arguments lead to something more.

Xing Mo, impatient, replied that he had no interest in Han Yijing and Jia Fan’s affairs, then hung up the phone. Jia Fan ran into Xing Mo, who told him that the modeling competition had its own set of rules. Yet, Jia Fan had repeatedly broken them. If he really felt undeserving of his spot, then he should prove himself with results. Han Yijing wore the headband Jia Fan had chosen for her during the next class.

She stubbornly insisted that it wasn’t because he had good taste, but because she could pull off any style. At the welcoming event, You Ning gave every trainee a gift and didn’t forget to take a jab at Han Yijing for coming empty-handed. President Ling encouraged the trainees to work hard, stay confident, and perform well. Then came the newcomers' entrance test—the iconic floating runway. Each person had only one chance. Only those who passed successfully would be officially accepted into Model Road.
