Su Li returned home and saw the shoes Wang Weide had given her. She decided to visit him at the hospital. Meanwhile, Shen Charen and Wang Ganggang made plans to start a new life together after she secured the money. Shen Charen reminded Wang Ganggang that she must obtain the cash. When Su Li arrived at the hospital, she learned that Wang Weide had already been discharged.
However, back at the company, Wang Weide suddenly showed up with coffee, stating that he was still a company employee and was determined to pursue Su Li with no ulterior motives. Su Li initially intended to fire him, but Wang Weide asked her to see his genuine feelings. Wang Ganggang informed Su Li that she had been working hard on the *Skirted Subjects* project and had already scheduled a meeting with Lu Zifan's agent.
She mentioned that the agent required one million in cash for turnover. Su Li did not blame Wang Ganggang for making this decision on her own; instead, she praised her for being thorough. Though Su Li knew the company didn’t have that much cash, she still signed off on the payment. Feeling guilty, Wang Ganggang invited Su Li to dinner and told her to order anything she wanted.
Su Li found it odd but didn’t think too much of it, only noting that Wang Ganggang was acting strangely. Throughout the meal, Wang Ganggang kept giving Su Li farewell-like advice, with tears welling in her eyes. Su Li understood what was happening but chose not to confront her. Instead, she quietly prepared the one million cash for the finance department. Wang Weide continued to court Su Li, sending her various desserts, but Su Li was not in the mood.
When Wang Ganggang went to the finance office to collect the money, she learned that Su Li had used her personal funds to help her. The finance team noted how well Su Li treated Wang Ganggang, and this filled Wang Ganggang with a sense of guilt. Su Li, feeling down, went to a restaurant to watch the sharks. Wang Weide found her there. Su Li compared herself to the sharks, saying that like them, she had no friends.
Wang Weide didn’t fully understand her worries, but he tried to cheer her up with his actions. Wang Weide took Su Li to the top of a mountain to gaze at the stars, then lit fireworks to help her release her stress. They laughed and chatted, momentarily forgetting their troubles. Wang Weide expressed his desire for Su Li to be happy every day and said he would continue to show his sincerity through actions.
Meanwhile, Shen Charen hugged the money as he slept, with Wang Ganggang by his side, and the two checked into a hotel. The next day, they packed their belongings and headed to the train station. Wang Ganggang asked to use the restroom, telling Shen Charen to go ahead without her. Watching Shen Charen leave with the money, Wang Ganggang sat alone on a bench, lost in thought.
She remembered all the kindness Su Li had shown her—how Su Li had once given her the courage to face challenges and supported her throughout. Overcome with guilt, Wang Ganggang felt she had betrayed Su Li. When she lifted her head, she saw Su Li standing right in front of her. Unable to hold back any longer, Wang Ganggang hugged Su Li and broke down in tears.
Su Li took her from the station and brought her to a hot spring to relieve her stress. Wang Ganggang continuously apologized, admitting that she had made many mistakes and should never have deceived Su Li. Su Li comforted her, saying she had willingly allowed herself to be deceived.
She explained that she had known all along that Wang Ganggang intended to take the money and run but chose not to confront her because she wanted Wang Ganggang to have a life of her own. Su Li told her that she already thought of her as a younger sister. Hearing this, Wang Ganggang felt even more ashamed and didn’t know how to face Su Li’s kindness.
When Shen Charen learned that Wang Ganggang had stayed behind to take responsibility, he felt guilty. He returned with the money, determined to face the consequences with her.
