Xiao Chunsheng hadn't seen He Hongling for several days. He Hongling called Ye Guohua and vented her frustrations. Ye Guohua asked Xiao Chunsheng to find He Hongling during his break. Xiao Chunsheng wanted to accompany Lianfang and Heidou for a stroll and also invited He Hongling to help choose local specialties. However, He Hongling firmly refused.

The next day was a day off, and He Hongling suggested going to the market with her roommates to find an opportunity to meet Xiao Chunsheng. Early in the morning, Xiao Chunsheng accompanied Qian Amao and his family to go shopping. He asked Qian Amao to spend quality time with Lianfang while he took Heidou to play around. He Hongling arrived at the market and looked around until she finally spotted Xiao Chunsheng and Heidou. She treated Heidou to an ice cream.

Lianfang was going to take Heidou back to her hometown, but Heidou clung to Qian Amao and refused to let go. Xiao Chunsheng tried to persuade Heidou, and with great effort, managed to convince him. Qian Amao accompanied Lianfang and Heidou to the train station. The elite squad received a training mission from their superiors, which required them to go deep into enemy territory to complete a reconnaissance task. Xiao Chunsheng made careful plans. When Ye Guohua saw the growing closeness between Duan Lei, Qian Amao, Meng Jinzhu, and Xiao Chunsheng, he suddenly realized that he had distanced himself from them.

Qian Amao noticed the subtle change in the relationship between Ye Guohua and Xiao Chunsheng. He advised Xiao Chunsheng not to deliberately hide his brilliance or let it shine too brightly.
