Official Ning from the Da Li Si had suspicions about Gu Danmo, so he quietly went to Gu Danmo's room while he was away and found various weapons inside. He was looking for a fishbone dagger when Gu Danmo suddenly came in. Official Ning smiled and asked Gu Danmo about his interest in collecting weapons, but Gu Danmo didn't answer and suddenly pulled out the dagger, stabbing Official Ning in the chest when he was off guard.
After killing Official Ning, Gu Danmo framed the murderer of Fu Su and reported it to the emperor. Both Li An and Official Ning from the Da Li Si had conflicts with Fu Su, so Gu Danmo suspected that Fu Su was the culprit. He also suspected that Fu Su was a spy from the Beiqi Kingdom, who had now fled in fear. Gu Danmo requested that the emperor issued a decree to capture Fu Su.
