Yingzhou suddenly received news that Cui Yi had fallen ill. Cui Lin was very anxious and planned to lead a light cavalry with Liu Chengfeng to rush to the rescue. However, it turned out to be a trap set by Cui Li. When the light cavalry reached halfway, Cui Li's army, with concealed faces, suddenly ambushed them. Caught off guard, they suffered heavy losses. Liu Chengfeng was injured and fell, Chen Xing, a close aide, died trying to save him, and Cui Lin was struck in the chest by an arrow. In the midst of the crisis, Li Ni, who received the news in time, arrived. He charged into the arrow rain and rescued Cui Lin. Li Ni couldn't defend himself, knowing that whatever he did, he would never gain his father's favor. He got up and left, wandering aimlessly, coincidentally encountering Gu Wanniang. Wanting to win Li Ni's favor, Gu Wanniang offered to take care of Lord Liang's illness. Knowing his father's temper and fearing that Gu Wanniang might be wronged, Li Ni declined her kindness. Later, Li Ni came to Cui Lin's room, squatting by her bedside and gradually falling asleep.

When Cui Lin woke up, she saw Li Ni sleeping beside her. Enduring the pain, she gently pulled up the blanket to prevent Li Ni from catching a cold. Cui Lin, understanding the reason, stabilized her emotions and focused on recovery.
