Despite Cui Lin's reassurance that Li Ni and the Zhenxi Army would not harm the Cui family army, especially considering Liu Chengfeng's severe injuries, it was not suitable for him to travel. Upon hearing this, Liu Chengfeng felt an unnamed anger, accusing Cui Lin of being enchanted by Li Ni, neglecting the safety of Yingzhou. Unwilling to argue, Cui Lin advised him to rest and then took her leave.

While Tao Zi was preparing medicine for Cui Lin, Li Ni swiftly entered through the window, bringing specially made pancakes for her. Knowing that Cui Lin couldn't eat meat at the moment and that the pancakes were too dry, Li Ni thoughtfully prepared honey. However, Li Ni was indifferent, claiming he had a plan and, if he couldn't escape unharmed, he would use it as an excuse to attack the capital. Hearing this, Pei Yuan became even angrier but was truly helpless.

To smoothly enter West Changjing, Li Ni specifically sought out Gu Wanniang, asking her for a token. Gu Wanniang volunteered to go to the capital with the token instead of just sending it. Li Ni hesitated, but seeing Gu Wanniang so determined, he reluctantly agreed to let her pretend to be his sister. Old Bao, upon learning of this, hurriedly reminded Li Ni that it would be better for Gu Wanniang to pretend to be Cui Lin's sister. Upon returning to the capital, Gu Wanniang quickly visited her father, Gu Xiang, to deliver a message from Li Ni. The once silent and inconspicuous daughter, who used to hide in the corners, now spoke fluently about the current situation, surprising Gu Xiang. Understanding the current circumstances, he agreed to meet with Li Ni. However, as an important official, Gu Xiang couldn't meet outsiders directly, especially the leader of the Zhenxi Army. The next step would be to figure out how to shake off Sun Jing's surveillance.

Li Ni brought Cui Lin to the Sauce Garden, sitting under a tree and sharing his past with her.
