Li Ni personally escorted Cui Lin back to the Cui family's army, once again proposing to cooperate in attacking West Changjing with Cui Yi. Looking at the hairpin on Li Ni's head, Cui Yi furrowed his brows, drew his sword, and aimed it at Li Ni's head. Li Ni, however, remained fearless, calmly watching Cui Yi's next move. Tao Zi, on the other hand, was extremely anxious, fearing that Cui Yi would kill Li Ni and Xie Zhanger together. Cui Lin had to reassure her that her father wouldn't kill them.

After a long time, Cui Lin brought a meal to Cui Yi's tent, showing no concern for Li Ni's fate. Cui Yi was puzzled by the indifference of his beloved daughter, who had just given Li Ni her mother's keepsake. Cui Lin explained to her father that she initially thought only she, from the Li family, could bring peace to the world. However, since meeting Li Ni, she had to change her attitude. Despite Li Ni appearing carefree, he had a meticulous mind and a pure heart. If he became the ruler, he could ensure peace in the realm. Hearing his daughter praise Li Ni like this, Cui Yi couldn't help but laugh.

Suddenly, he turned cold, claiming that he had already killed Li Ni. Surprisingly, Cui Lin was not anxious and stated that her father wouldn't kill Li Ni at this moment—at least he would wait until they captured West Changjing before breaking ties. Cui Lin smiled happily, looking forward to the day Li Ni would come to propose.
