Liu Chengfeng had previously made a pact with Uluo: if he managed to bring Cui Lin out, Uluo would help them escape. As for Tao Zi, he had no choice but to dispose of her in a makeshift grave. Later, he asked Uluo for an antidote. However, with just a moment's sniff, he realized that the antidote was suspicious. Uluo, no longer concealing anything, ordered his men to restrain Liu Chengfeng and ensure they both hit the road with Cui Lin. However, Uluo did not anticipate that Liu Chengfeng had already obtained evidence of his collusion with Gu Xiang, as well as knowledge of his covert operations in Xichangjing. Liu Chengfeng informed Uluo that if he and Cui Lin couldn't leave safely, he would expose all of these details.

Impatient, Uluo had Liu Chengfeng bound and subjected to severe torture, but he adamantly refused to disclose Ah Shu's whereabouts. Seeing Liu Chengfeng's resilience, Uluo decided not to linger and openly stated that if the covert operations were exposed, so be it. He then gave Liu Chengfeng a choice: either he dies, or Cui Lin dies. After contemplating for a moment, Liu Chengfeng chose to personally kill Cui Lin. However, he requested Uluo that if he wanted him to call back Ah Shu, he must ensure Cui Lin's corpse remains intact. Uluo laughed heartily and agreed to Liu Chengfeng's request. Subsequently, Liu Chengfeng took out a pill and slowly fed it to Cui Lin.

Meanwhile, the new emperor learned that Li Ni had deployed all the Forbidden Army and Imperial Guards, sealing off the entire Xichangjing and conducting searches throughout the capital. Panicking, he sought advice from Gu Xiang on how to handle the situation. Gu Xiang did not provide a direct answer but suggested the new emperor ask Li Ni directly. However, Li Ni, currently preoccupied with searching for Cui Lin, had no intention of returning to report. Just as he dismissed the eunuch delivering the imperial decree, Xie Zhanger sent word that someone had seen a young woman in Yizhuang. Li Ni's heart was already in his throat, unwilling to let go of any possibility of finding Cui Lin, and decided to investigate Yizhuang. At that moment, strange noises suddenly emanated from nearby.

He searched for the source of the sound, but found nothing. Later, he witnessed Liu Chengfeng leaping from a window upstairs, calling out the name "Aying." Li Ni hurriedly rushed upstairs and indeed found Cui Lin. He cradled her in his arms, rushing back to the Eastern Palace and summoning a few imperial physicians to examine her. However, they all knelt down, claiming they could no longer detect Cui Lin's pulse, suggesting that she had breathed her last. Li Ni couldn't believe it and involuntarily sank to the ground.

Li Ni carried Cui Lin to Leyouyuan, where they once again enjoyed the breeze together. He recalled the first time they came here, how joyful and carefree they were. He wanted to sing the same ballad, hoping that after the song, Cui Lin would wake up. However, the song, carried away by the breeze, disappeared into nothingness, but Cui Lin remained motionless, without a sound. Tears filled Li Ni's eyes, convincing himself that Cui Lin would wake up. He sang one song after another, but Cui Lin still didn't wake up.

At night, Li Ni, as in the past, grilled a fish, holding Cui Lin by the bonfire. Yet, Cui Lin still did not wake up. Li Ni didn't know what to do to make Cui Lin wake up. He refused to accept that Cui Lin had already passed away, desperately hoping for a miracle. He couldn't help but think that he would rather not be the Crown Prince, staying here quietly with Cui Lin, sitting in the evening breeze, and roasting by the fire.
