Grandma expressed that she only had Ke Shizhao's mother as her daughter, and they hadn't seen each other for many years. She mentioned her desire to visit her daughter in Jiangzhou. Ke Shizhao replied that there wasn't much to see in Jiangzhou and assured Grandma that he would arrange for her to visit Linzhou instead. Ke Shizhao mentioned that his father was an upright person and had made many enemies in Jiangzhou. Even though his father had passed away, there were still malicious rumors and slander spread by unscrupulous individuals, tarnishing the Ke family's reputation. After hearing Ke Shizhao's words, Grandma had some doubts but also realized the importance of not jumping to conclusions and decided to take her time to consider the matter.

Ke Shizhao secretly approached Lao Guan and instructed him to send people to Jiangzhou to find the blind beggar old woman and to seize the opportunity to eliminate her. Qi Tianlei, aware that Grandma had not believed Ji Jingtang's words, realized that they needed to bring the blind old woman out to testify against Ke Shizhao. This way, Grandma would no longer trust Ke Shizhao. To accomplish this, Qi Tianlei pretended to have a relapse of his old illness and, with Li Yuhu's words, persuaded Grandma to agree to their stay in a secluded villa for recuperation.

Accompanied by Li Yuhu and his younger sister Yansheng, Qi Tianlei went to the secluded villa. Meanwhile, Ke Shizhao secretly arranged for Wang Huzi to have someone follow them. While on the way, Li Yuhu arranged for Xiao Xi to get off at a pharmacy to buy medicine. The horseman arranged by Wang Huzi took the opportunity to follow Xiao Xi discreetly. When no one was watching, Xiao Xi handed a letter to Ji Jingtang at the pharmacy, and the horseman did not suspect her.

Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu arrived at the secluded villa, where they instructed Xiao Xi and Yansheng to follow their plan. Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu then left in the middle of the night to find the blind old woman in Jiangzhou. This piqued the interest of the gambling den owner, the Ear Whispering Deity. Li Yuhu intentionally placed large bets, and the Ear Whispering Deity manipulated the dice. Li Yuhu proposed that Qi Tianlei shake the dice, and during the process, he secretly swapped the dice. As a result, they won against the Ear Whispering Deity.

Upon losing the game, the Ear Whispering Deity realized that the two were not to be trifled with. Qi Tianlei didn't conceal his intentions and asked about the whereabouts of the blind old woman. He also mentioned that if the Ear Whispering Deity was willing to help, the previous gambling match could be disregarded, and the Ear Whispering Deity could still keep the winnings. The Ear Whispering Deity, seeing their sincerity, revealed the information about the blind old woman's location in the White Sparrow Monastery and advised them to leave as soon as possible, as further complications could arise. On the other side, as soon as Lao Guan learned of this information, he ordered his subordinates to take action.
