In front of Grandma, Luxuan recounted the malicious deception that led to her son's death and the subsequent framing of her family and the pharmacy. She began to describe the person responsible, but she was poisoned before she could reveal the culprit. Li Yuhu questioned whether Xiao Xi had poisoned the tea and, to prove her innocence, Xiao Xi drank it.

Ke Shizhao, seeing that his plan had succeeded, suggested in front of Grandma that this might be the work of business rivals who had poisoned Luxuan. He tried to shift the blame onto the Qi family. Qi Tianlei quickly had Li Yuhu take Luxuan away, then had a physician summoned. Using a life-saving elixir left by his master, Qi Tianlei temporarily saved Luxuan's life. However, Luxuan's vocal cords were damaged by the poison, and she couldn't speak to reveal her grievances.

Qi Tianlei asked Ji Jingtang if anything unusual happened when Luxuan was taken out of the residence, which made him realize that a beggar child they encountered outside the residence had poisoned her. Qi Tianlei knew that they had to wait for his master to return to completely detoxify Luxuan. Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu staged a scene where Luxuan appeared to have died from the poison, which convinced Xiao Xi that she was dead. Believing that Luxuan had passed away, Ke Shizhao finally let his guard down. Ke Shizhao received a letter from Lao Guan, learning about Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu's actions in Jiangzhou. He realized that his top priority was to eliminate the helper Qi Tianlei had gained. To do this, he sought out Miss Yu from the Yu family, who was now available for marriage.

Miss Yu was brought to the Qi residence by Ke Shizhao, which pleased Grandma greatly. Ke Shizhao deliberately mentioned that Miss Yu and Qi Tianlei had been childhood friends right in front of Li Yuhu. Upon seeing Miss Yu, Grandma exchanged pleasantries with her, and Miss Yu presented a pair of matching jade pendants that her grandmother had made for Qi Tianlei and herself. Touched by this memory, Grandma promised that Miss Yu could stay at the Qi residence as long as she wished. Miss Yu requested to live in the room from her childhood, but it was now in Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu's courtyard. Li Yuhu graciously welcomed Miss Yu to stay in their courtyard.

Miss Yu arranged for her nanny to deliver gifts to all the rooms in the Qi residence. During her stay, she encountered Ke Shizhao, who informed her that their plan's first step had been successful. If Miss Yu wanted to create a good relationship with Qi Tianlei, she needed to continue impressing Grandma.
