Qi Tianlei brought the poisoned needle to show Grandma. Grandma, who had been clever all her life, did not expect to have let the wolf into the house in her old age. Qi Tianlei decided to use a trick against Ke Shizhao, making him commit another crime. This way, they could expose his true intentions and reveal his true face by catching him in the act.

Qi Yansheng found Liu Ruoqian and brought him before Grandma. Yansheng explained that she had been pretending to be mute all these years. In the mansion, Ke Shizhao was growing anxious about not receiving news of Qi Tianlei's death. In his impatience, he summoned Wang Huzi to gather information. Wang Huzi went to Qi Tianlei's courtyard and found Liu Ruoqian ordering people to search the lake for something. Soon, servants found the box of poisoned needles that Wang Huzi had thrown into the lake. Witnessing Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu by the lake, Wang Huzi, in a panic, fell into the water.

Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu reflected on the timing of Wang Huzi's appearance, realizing it was when their plot was exposed. Li Yuhu also thanked Du Bingyan for her warning before leaving the residence, advising them to be cautious of Ke Shizhao. Liu Ruoqian, upon learning that Du Bingyan had been to the Qi residence recently, speculated that although Du Bingyan had helped Qi Tianlei, she might have inadvertently delayed his plans. Sha Pingwei met Yuan Buqu alone, stating that he had specifically found a renowned physician from Yangzhou for him. Later, Sha Pingwei asked Du Bingyan to check Yuan Buqu's pulse from outside. Through a messenger, Yuan Buqu was informed that he was suffering from lovesickness. It was only when Du Bingyan appeared before him that Yuan Buqu realized the renowned physician from Yangzhou was none other than the person he had yearned for, Du Bingyan.

Ke Shizhao informed Fang Xiaoqiao that there was another secret chamber in Grandma's room containing gold and silver treasures. He instructed her to pay close attention to this matter. Therefore, while cleaning Grandma's room, Fang Xiaoqiao searched for the secret chamber. Ke Shizhao bribed assassins, instructing them to kill Qi Tianlei and others. Later, Ke Shizhao brought the profits from the businesses of the fourteenth of this month to Grandma. He then had Fang Xiaoqiao enter Grandma's room during the opportune moment to try to learn the location of the secret chamber.
